Google Assistant always worked for texting and emailing before but now all of a sudden when I tell it to text somebody it says it can't ”email" from this account. I'm on an S8 Galaxy phone.

Hi Tony,

Welcome to the Google Search and Assistant Help Forum!

Just to confirm, did you try all the below steps mentioned below:

  1. Check if the Google app is updated to the latest version. You could visit Play Store and go to the Google App page. If you see update button, try updating the app that might help fix this issue.

  2. If the app is updated to latest version, uninstalling the update might help fix the issue. To uninstall: Go to device Settings > Apps or applicationmanager > find Google app> tap on the menu icon (three vertical dots) on top right corner > Uninstall updates.

  3. Try clearing the cache and data of the Google App: Settings > Apps > Google App > Storage > Clear Cache and then tap on Manage Space > Clear All Data. Please note that this will delete all the preferences of the Google App including the widgets.

  4. Lastly try disabling the Google App: go to Settings > Apps > Google App > Disable. Later you can tap on Enable (If you have an option to uninstall the Google App, please uninstall and reinstall the app.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Lucas

I have the same issue. Tried this and it didn't work. Additionally as soon as I "downgrade" the assistant, then go to use the old version, it installs the new version and gives me the same error message. Someone at Google needs to get their heads out of their ASSES and fix this BS. Every week its another crock of Google BS. Seriously tired of it. Sorry for the rant. But I've  been bounced around from G Suite support, to Home support to Assistant support which is no support.  But thanks for trying.

So a little update. The issue seems specific to my G Suite Account. If I use my standard gmail account in the assistant, there's no issue. But I rarely use that account and communicate from my G Suite account for business. So what has transpired that I can not do this anymore?

Same issue here. Both mine and my wife's account will not text using assistant. I have done the macro'd solutions posted by a Google rep here but it does not make a difference.

Works on my @gmail.com account no issues.

Is this another issue with GSuite users being limited again? Just like how we can no longer review apps on the play store?
