Can't login to Flickr using my Google account

I created a Flickr account just 2 weeks ago using my Google login. After a week I stopped being able to sign in. Having contacted Flickr support, they told me that it's a Google problem.

When I try to sign in, Flickr tells me that there's a problem because my email address is already associated with a Flickr account. The weird thing is that it's the correct account it's complaining about. If I try to follow the links presented I just end up going round in circles.

In my Google account authorized sites settings, there's a Yahoo entry for Flickr - open.login.yahoo.com. Not sure why this won't let me sign in correctly. There's an option to revoke access here but I'm not sure whether this is a good idea.

What can be done here?

Thanks for the info. There's a fair few people there having the same or similar problems to me but, as far as I can tell, there's no solution.

Yes I tried that but no joy.

I vaguely remember that when it all started going wrong, Flickr wanted me to re-authorize my Google account. It seems like the OpenID that Flickr is now expecting is not the one received from Google. If this is the case then I'm not sure how to re-sync them. Forgive me if I'm wrong here since I don't know much about OpenID.

After a month of waiting for Flickr support to fix the problem, I can now log into my account again! They said that there was "a problem with the bind between my Google and Flickr accounts". I now have to log in with a Yahoo account.

So it looks like the problem was at their end, in case other people see the same error message

Did you have to contact google directly about this or did it fix itself with time?  I am experiencing the same issue and don't want to create a whole new account.  Thanks.

I contacted Flickr - they were ones that fixed it.
I now use a Yahoo account instead of a Google account to log in
