Google has gone downhill

What happened, Google?

You used to be a great search engine.  Back in the day I can remember the simplicity of typing in what I wanted to get and I got it.  The search engine didn't assume results.  The search engine didn't return results based upon popularity or profitability.  The search engine didn't assume that I am stupid.  The search engine actually used "  " appropriately.

Does anyone know of a search engine that does it Google old style?  I'm tired of typing in a couple of letters and a bunch of words or phrases pop up below.  It's distracting and aggravating.

Agreed 100%. Google docs and gmail lost about half their use when they removed the "view as html" button. But instant search (and the fact they no longer let you turn it off) is really what did it for me.

Levels

Member levels indicate a user's level of participation in a forum. The greater the participation, the higher the level. Everyone starts at level 1 and can rise to level 10. These activities can increase your level in a forum:

  • Post an answer.
  • Having your answer selected as the best answer.
  • Having your post rated as helpful.
  • Vote up a post.
  • Correctly mark a topic or post as abuse.

Having a post marked and removed as abuse will slow a user's advance in levels.
