How to stop pop ups and redirects?

I keep on getting pop ups or end being redirected to other websites all the time. I've tried following googles advice and I've used google clean up to remove unwanted software but it cant find anything. Windows defender scanning cant find any viruses either. I've also reseted google chromes settings twice, and I've also reloaded chrome as well. I have no idea what to do now and this issue (I think it's malware) is driving me nuts.

Please can somebody advise me. I need step by step instructions as i'm quite clearly not an expert.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ian

If you're only getting redirected occasionally when you click on a search result, it may not have anything to do with your computer. It's possible that the website has been hacked so it redirects when accessed from a Google search result.

According to your description, your computer must get infected by adware or browser hijacker that can keep popping up ads and redirecting you to unwanted websites. These guides should help you:

  • Vote up a post.
  • Correctly mark a topic or post as abuse.

Having a post marked and removed as abuse will slow a user's advance in levels.
