Listen to podcasts with Google Podcasts

You can find and listen to podcasts with Google Podcasts .

Tip: To sync your listening progress across your signed in devices, you must sign in to your Google Account and have Web & App Activity turned on. If you set your activity to auto-delete, your listening progress is also deleted after the time period that you set. 

Tip: To get the latest Podcasts features, update the Google app.

On your Android phone or tablet, you can:

• Download the Google Podcasts app.
• Ask your Google Assistant to play a specific podcast.
• Search for a podcast in your Google app or on google.com.

Find & subscribe to podcasts

You can find your subscriptions at the top left on Google Podcasts. To unsubscribe from a podcast, open it and tap Subscribed.

Important: When you play a podcast, Google Podcasts uses your device to request the audio from the website that hosts it. This request includes information about the device making the request, like the IP address and what type of device you want to listen on (for example, Chrome, Safari, Android, or iOS).

 

Discover more podcasts

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open Google Podcasts .
2. Tap Search .
3. You’ll get recommendations.
   • Tip: In some countries, you can choose a podcast genre. At the top, tap on a category, like Comedy.

Find an episode of a subscribed podcast

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open Google Podcasts .
2. To find:
   • All available episodes of a podcast: Tap the podcast.
   • Episode details: Tap the episode name.
   • In-progress or downloaded episodes: At the bottom, tap Activity .
   • New Episodes: At the bottom, tap Home .

To return to the main page, at the bottom left, tap Home .

Play an episode of a podcast

1. Next to the episode, tap Play .
   • If you’re on a details page, tap Play episode.
2. Your episode will play at the bottom of the screen.
3. For more controls, at the bottom of your screen, tap the playing episode. You can pause, move forward or back, change speed, shorten silences, and set a sleep timer.

Manage your queue

Add an episode to your queue

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open Google Podcasts .
2. Next to any episode, tap Add to queue .
   • Items in your queue will have Added to queue  next to them.

Remove episodes from your queue

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open Google Podcasts .
2. At the bottom, tap Activity Your queue.
3. To remove:
   • A single episode: Next to the episode, tap Added to queue .
   • All episodes: At the top, tap More Clear your queue.

Change the order of your queue

1. On your Android phone or tablet, Open Google Podcasts .
2. At the bottom, tap Activity Your queue.
3. Next to the episode, touch and hold Move , then drag it where you want.

Listen to podcasts on another Google Account

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open Google Podcasts .
2. At the top right, tap your profile picture or initial.
3. Tap Add another account or choose the account you want to use.

Add a podcast by RSS feed

Important: This feature is available when you sign in.

You can also add a podcast by RSS feed. Once you add it, the podcast appears along with your other subscribed shows.

In the Google Podcasts app

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open Google Podcasts .
2. At the bottom, tap Activity Subscriptions.
3. Tap More   Add by RSS feed.
4. Enter the feed URL.
5. Tap Subscribe.

In your browser

1. On your Android phone or tablet, go to google.com.
2. At the top left, tap Menu   Add by RSS feed.
3. Enter the feed URL.
4. Tap Subscribe.
