Webmaster Tools - Long dead and deleted sites still listed

OK... First time post. I'm not certain whether to post this in the Analytics section or here but it's either one or the other. What I'm experiencing is as follows... In the new webmaster tools off to the right of your sites is a button labeled 'manage site' and then when I select 'Google Analytics property' I get a page then entitled "Enable Webmaster Tools data in Google Analytics" and below that is a listing of every dead and non-dead site I've ever had. Some of these long dormant and dead sites go back several years. So why in the world are they still there? These sites were added to Analytics ages ago and also removed just about as long so it's absurd that Google would cache it. I want the references removed entirely but in Googles typical fashion with their "tools" everything is buried and obfuscated.

Do you still see those sites in Google Analytics? Maybe you have to remove them first from Google Analytics.

They were deleted out of Analytics years ago and so there are no longer any listings visible on that end. If I hadn't gone back and check up on how things have "integrated" lately I'd never have seen this. I simply find it disturbing that details of sites that have been dead and gone, some for well over three years, are sitting there and popping back up for no other reason than there has been a merger of account details lately. So the question ultimately is how to get rid of this and why are they cropping back up.

Did you ever find a solution to this issue? I have the same thing happening, it makes it a real pain to match up all our websites with what they are linked to in analytics since we have gone through and re-organized analytics. There were duplicate profiles and bad formats in our analytics account (due to multiple people doing this job). Now it is very had for me to tell if the webmaster tools are linked to the correct (existing) analytics account because it never cleans them out? How hard is it to remove the no longer existing analytics profiles? it seems to add them very quickly (as soon as they are created) but not remove them once they are deleted? Seems like one more database check to remove the old links, or just a fresh list each time the page is visited would be a pretty easy option.
