my site got huge drop at 21 Oct. Really need some advise!!

 Hi all,

My site is lamtheo.com one of local site at VietNam. Before 21/10/2010 this is good with 15k visitors / day and grown up day by day. Suddenlly i see the visitors drop to 2k per day. I've read some thread in here and i see that have 2 ways to solve this :

1) Check this site carefully to see if this break any google's rules : duplicate content, keyword stuffing and more... and then send a request to reconsideration to google via Google webmaster Page.

2) Ask help from expert people and google webmaster via this forum.

The way 1) i've done and i still waiting for response but seem like i not get it for the reconsideration request.

So i  start this thread to see if have any expert help me out. Coz lost visitor day by day make me hurt.

Thanks and sorry for my bad English.

Hi tieungao,
If you're sure you haven't violated google's guidelines the most logical explenation is an algorithm change which wasn't good for your ranking. There over 400 algorithm changes a year at Google.

But...
I looked up your source and I see that you have a <div> with id "thickload" which is hidden. This could caused your penalty.

@martinacastro : hi my site still not better. I think google change something in the algorithm .

@Daniël Voogsgerd : hi thanks for making help. Problem is this change "suddenlly" . Like i think, if google change some algorithm and my site is affected by that, the traffic must drop slowly, date by date. But it drop immediately from 15k per day to 2k per day. This is not normal rite?

Btw, i will try to make this div not hidden. thanks you.

tieungao,

As you can see many have this same problem.  I see a lot of very poor quality sites ranking higher than they really should.  It might be because google released some filters to reorganize the index.  Surely I do not see google sticking with things this way and I am sure all will be fine soon enough.

Just keep producing great unique and interesting content, that is all you can do for now.

Hi tieungao

I would also recommend continuing to work on improving the quality of your site. For instance, while I don't read Vietnamese, I imagine that pages like http://lamtheo.com/gunny_login/trang-4 are probably not really the kind of content that people want to find online in search results. Working to make sure that your pages are of the highest possible quality across the board is always a good strategy.

Cheers
John

Hi Parkershots
I'd recommend starting a thread of your own for your site -- that usually makes it easier to follow and easier to give feedback.

Cheers

tieungao I wouldnt just wait around and hope for the best.  The latest change has hurt a lot of webmasters.  I had a client contact me who said he could not sleep for 2 days straight because he just lost all his SERP's and is now being beat out by spammy type sites.  He supports his family from his website and he would have to search for a regular job if his website tanks.  But I will tell you the same thing I told him, do not get so worked up over nothing, google always ends up with quality, relevant results and in the end, the websites with the best content always win, so focus on that.  I am sure this is a "things need to get worse before they get better" type of deal.
