Use notifications for tasks

You can receive notifications for your tasks in Google Tasks, Google Calendar and Google Assistant. If two or more apps are installed on your phone, only one app will notify you. For example, if the Tasks app isn't installed but you have Calendar and Assistant, then Calendar will notify you.

Tip: To get notifications, add a date and time to your task. Learn more about creating a task in the Tasks app.

Change task notifications on your phone

Use your phone to change your notification settings for tasks in the Tasks app.

If you don't have the Tasks app, you can change task notifications for Calendar and Assistant:
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Notifications.
  3. In the app list, tap Tasks.
  4. Turn Allow notifications on or off.

If you set up a Focus on your iPhone or iPad, you may not get notifications. To keep notifications for the Tasks app on, turn on Time-sensitive notifications:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Focus.
  3. At the top, tap the desired Focus.
  4. Under 'Allow notifications', tap Apps and then Add apps and then Tasks and then Done.
  5. Turn on Time-sensitive notifications.
