1. Què són les alertes SOS?

   L'objectiu de les alertes SOS és aconseguir que la informació d'emergència sigui més accessible durant una crisi natural o provocada per l'home. Reunim contingut rellevant i acreditat del web, dels mitjans socials i de productes de Google, per destacar posteriorment aquesta informació a productes de Google com ara la Cerca de Google i Google Maps. En funció de les característiques de la crisi i de la vostra ubicació, pot ser que veieu informació d'autoritats locals, nacionals o internacionals. Aquesta informació pot incloure números de telèfon i llocs web d'emergència, mapes, traduccions de frases útils i oportunitats per fer una donació, entre d'altres. 

2. Com decideix Google quan s'han de mostrar alertes SOS?

   Tenim en compte una sèrie de factors, com ara l'accés a Internet de les zones afectades, la disponibilitat del contingut oficial procedent dels governs o d'altres organitzacions acreditades i l'impacte sobre el terreny. Normalment, les alertes SOS estan disponibles en els idiomes principals de la zona afectada i en anglès.  

   Tot i que no podem garantir que veieu una alerta SOS per a cada crisi important, el nostre objectiu és que estiguin disponibles d'una manera més generalitzada al llarg del temps. 3. D'on s'obté el contingut de les alertes SOS?

   Tenim equips per tot el món que obtenen informació d'agències governamentals, primers interventors, canals de difusió de confiança i ONG. També recopilem informació d'altres productes i serveis de Google, com ara Google Notícies, Google Maps i Waze, entre d'altres.

4. Com puc rebre una alerta SOS?

   Si sou a prop d'una zona de crisi important i cerqueu paraules i frases relacionades a Google, pot ser que veieu un bàner que indica que s'està produint una crisi, seguit d'informació d'emergència i recursos com ara traduccions o números de telèfon útils. Si teniu instal·lada l'última versió de l'aplicació Google (Android i iOS) i teniu activada la ubicació, també és possible que rebeu una notificació a la pantalla d'inici del dispositiu mòbil. Toqueu la notificació per veure tota l'alerta a la Cerca de Google. 

   Si esteu fora de la zona de crisi, no rebreu cap notificació, però podreu trobar les alertes SOS cercant informació sobre l'esdeveniment. Pot ser que la informació que veieu sigui diferent de la que veuen les persones més properes a la zona de crisi. Per exemple, en lloc de veure números de telèfon d'emergència, pot ser que vegeu un enllaç per fer una donació a aquesta crisi. 

   Si utilitzeu Google Maps, també podeu veure alertes SOS directament al mapa en cas que hi hagi alertes actives a la zona que esteu veient. Toqueu la icona per obtenir més informació sobre la crisi, com ara números de telèfon i llocs web útils.

5. Per què no veig cap alerta SOS?

   Si no veieu cap alerta SOS durant una crisi, és possible que sigui per algun dels motius següents:

   • Pot ser que la consulta de cerca sigui massa àmplia. Proveu de cercar paraules clau que incloguin tant el tipus de desastre com el nom de la zona afectada. 
   • Pot ser que encara estiguem recopilant i verificant la informació abans d'emetre una alerta SOS. Seguiu consultant les novetats mentre la crisi evoluciona. 
   • Pot ser que no tinguem previst emetre cap alerta SOS per a aquesta emergència. El nostre objectiu és que hi hagi més alertes SOS disponibles per a més crisis. Mentrestant, consulteu el compte de Twitter de Google Crisis Response per obtenir més informació sobre altres maneres de col·laborar amb les accions en cas d'emergència, incloses la concessió de subvencions, el voluntariat i la recopilació d'imatges per satèl·lit.

   People who live in flood-prone areas receive localized information from Flood Forecasts alerts. You get notifications of future events as these alerts are updated several times a day based on real-time data. You can also find flood forecast alerts on Google.

   To search for floods near you:

2. How do the Flood Forecasting models work?

   To provide Flood Forecasting, we monitor historical and real-time water level measurements and precipitation forecasts. We use data that’s either publicly available or available to Google through partnerships with local governments. Based on this information, we run 2 main types of machine learning models:

   • Hydrologic models: Provides forecasts of river water levels for upcoming days.
   • Inundation models: Provides forecasts for the flood extent on the ground. This information tells us who to notify and helps us provide flood maps on Google Maps.

3. How does Google decide when to show a Flood Forecasting alert?

   Google displays a Flood Forecasting alert when the water in a river is higher than a warning level or is expected to be higher than a warning level. Warning levels estimate when a river will flood and are usually based on historical flood events. Government agencies that manage floods provide warning levels to Google.

   Google Flood Forecasting alerts are updated several times a day, based on real-time local data. If an alert is no longer active, Google removes it from Search and Maps results.

    

4. Who receives Flood Forecasting notifications?

   Once an upcoming flood is identified, Google sends notifications. Notifications go to people who have their smartphone location services turned on and who are located in the area that’s flooded or expected to flood. If you aren’t near an area that’s flooded or expected to flood, you won’t get a Google flood forecast notification.

5. Turn off Flood Forecasting notifications

   You’ll find Flood Forecasting notifications as part of the Google Search Application notifications. On Android devices, it’s available as a system app. On iPhones and iPads, you can install the Google app from the Apple App Store.

   To turn off Flood Forecasting notifications, turn off “Crisis Alerts” notifications.

   If you are within a supported area, and search for a flooded area in a specific location via google search app, you’ll find a flood forecast in your Search page results.    We generate fire alerts with a deep learning model that tracks fire boundaries with real-time satellite imagery. The model is based on superresolution image fusion of hyperspectral imagery from third-party satellites like:

   • GK2A
   • Himawari-9, Meteosat-9, and Meteosat-11 from EUMETSAT [2023]

4. Who receives fire notifications?

   Once a fire is identified, Google sends notifications. Notifications go to people who have their smartphone location services turned on and who are located in the area that’s near a fire. If you aren’t near a fire, you won’t get a Google fire notification.

   Here are some reasons you may not find a fire alert when you search:

   • We may not support your location yet. We're working to expand our global support. We currently support:

   • The fire may be too small to detect with satellites.
   • There's a temporary technical issue with the satellite data.
   • Your location services are turned off and your search doesn't have a location specified.
