Use custom dimensions to filter a Floodlight column in the new Search Ads 360

Before you can use a custom Floodlight variable as a dimension in a Floodlight column, you'll need to specify in the new Search Ads 360 that the variable's data type is a dimension.

If you’re using custom Floodlight variables to pass dimension data to the new Search Ads 360, you can use the data to filter a Floodlight column in a reporting table in the new Search Ads 360. For example, if you’re using a variable to pass the name of the region where a conversion occurred, you can then create a Floodlight reporting column that contains only the data from specific regions.

  1. Sign in to your new Search Ads 360.
  2. Navigate to a sub-manager account in the new Search Ads 360 that's associated with a Campaign Manager 360 advertiser that contains custom Floodlight variables.
  3. Navigate to a reporting table.
For example, click Campaigns on the page menu.

  4. Click the Columns button, which appears above the performance summary graph.
  5. To add a new column:
    1. Click the + Custom column button.
    2. Select + Custom conversion column.
    3. Name your column and select the Floodlight activities or Floodlight groups whose data you want to include in the column.
    4. Use the “Metric” list to select the metric you want to report on. Note that this must not be a Custom Floodlight Variable metric if you want to filter on a custom Floodlight Variable Dimension.
  6. Under “Custom variable”, select a custom variable to filter the selected conversion actions.
  7. Optionally, apply a data-driven attribution model or an alternate attribution model imported from Campaign Manager 360 to the data in the column. Learn which types of attribution models can be used with custom metrics and dimensions.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Under “Your columns”, drag and drop to reorder the new column to the desired location.
  10. Click Apply.

After you create a column that's filtered by custom Floodlight dimensions, you can do any of the following:

Note about reporting custom data for individual conversions:

Data about an individual Floodlight conversion is available in the downloadable Conversion report. Reporting tables in the new Search Ads 360 don't display data about individual conversions.
