Floodlight conversion reporting quick start guide

The key conversion columns you should be aware of in the new Search Ads 360 are:

  • "All conversions" (abbreviated "All conv."): By default, this column reports conversions from all sources, including Floodlight activities and Google Ads conversion actions. To view specific Floodlight or Google Ads conversions, create a custom column.
  • "Conversions" (and the "Include in conversions" setting): The "Conversions" column reports only the Floodlight conversions that you’ve chosen to include in the column. Automated bidding strategies in the new Search Ads 360 uses this column to optimize bids.

  • The "Conversions" column doesn't currently report any conversions, because the "Include in "Conversions" settings is set to "No" and isn't editable.  You can change the setting after your Search Ads 360 bid strategies have been migrated to the new Search Ads 360. Once your bid strategies have been migrated, you can select the "Include in Conversions" setting to report conversions in the "Conversions" column.

Search Ads 360 bid strategies and some bid-strategy related components such as data-sharing, will be available only after your account has been migrated to the new Search Ads 360. Learn more about how to upgrade your bid strategies  to the new Search Ads 360.

This article describes how to create a custom column to report on the Floodlight conversions that you care most about.

Set up a custom column to report Floodlight conversions

As with the previous Search Ads 360, you have the option of creating your own Floodlight reporting columns. To create a custom Floodlight column in the new Search Ads 360, you can segment the "All conv." column.

  1. Sign in to your new Search Ads 360.
  2. On the page menu, click Campaigns.
  3. Above the table, click the columns icon Icon for customizing the columns listed on the Customer page.
  4. On the "Modify columns for campaigns" page, click + Custom column, then select Custom formula column.
  5. In the "New Custom Formula Column" window, select an owner account for the custom column.
  6. Enter a column name and a column description (optional).
  7. Under "Data format", click the arrow Down Arrow and select one of the following formats:
    • Number (123)
    • Percent (%)
    • Money ($)
    • Text (abc)
    • True/False
    • Date
  8. Segment the "All conv." column.
    1. Click + Column.
    2. In the dropdown, click Conversions, then select All conversions (by conv. time).
    3. Do any of the following:
      • To create a custom column that contains only Floodlight conversions, click Conversion source in the "Filters" column, then select the Floodlight checkbox.
      • To create a custom column that contains specific Floodlight conversions, click Conversion action in the "Filters" column, then select the checkbox for each Floodlight conversion that you want to include.
Only the Floodlight conversion actions that have recorded conversions can be included in a custom column.
    4. Click Save.
  9. In the "Modify columns for campaigns" window, click Custom columns to expand the section.
  10. Under "Custom formula columns", select the checkbox of the column name to add it to the reporting table.
  11. Click Apply.
Currently, it's not possible to segment custom columns by custom Floodlight variables (CFVs) in the new Search Ads 360 experience.
