If you receive a cannot open file error, it's likely that Quickoffice doesn't support this kind of file. Here's some things you can check:
- Verify that the file is a supported file type
- Verify that any macros are disabled (using Microsoft Office)
- Verify that the file has the correct file extension
- Remove unsupported features and view styles like macros, page view for excel/powerpoint files & embedded sound, video, or files
- If the file has password protection, verify that Quickoffice supports passwords for these kinds of files
If none of these apply to your file, try resaving it in Microsoft Office. Open the file in Office, go to File > Save As. Save the file with the same name in the same location to replace the existing file with a new verison.
- Reduce the size of the file by saving it in Office 2007-2010 format
- Reduce the size of the file by removing unsupported features like embedded sound, video, smart art, and files
- If the file is stored on your tablet or phone, try moving it to a cloud account before opening to reduce the amount of memory necessary to access the file
- Close background applications and any other open files to increase available memory
- Reboot your tablet or phone
- If you're using an iPad or iPhone, Open Quickofice, touch settings, then increase the size of the file cache
- You may have lost your connection to the cloud account that you opened the file from.
- Touch Save As to save a copy of the file to your device, and move the file to the cloud account when your connection is reestablished
- Your device does not allow downloaded applications to modify the storage location you're attempting to save the file to
- Select a different storage location or touch Save As to save a new copy of the file in another location
