Get effects added to your photos

If you want to automatically get fun special effects added to your photos, try turning on Auto Awesome. When your Google+ photos match certain criteria, you'll get copies of them made into things like short animations, wide-screen panoramas, and mini-movies. Auto Awesome is on by default.

Don't worry, your original photos aren't deleted. Auto Awesome just makes a new version of them & your original photos can still be found in your Google+ photos.

Turn Auto Awesome on or off

To turn it on or off, first choose how you get to Google+:

Android app
  1. Open the  Photos app > touch the menu  icon/button at the top right > Settings > your name.

Get effects added to your photos

Auto Awesome photos are automatically generated when photos you upload to Google+ match the criteria below. You can upload photos manually or use Auto Backup, which automatically backs up photos and videos from your mobile device to Google+. We'll tell you when a photo or movie has been created with a Google+ notification, and they are private unless you choose to share them.
