Cannot turn on wifi after February update on P6 Pro

After February update on my Pixel 6 Pro, wifi will not turn on. I rebooted and it worked temporarily until the phone was locked and put down for a few minutes. Once unlocked, wifi is shut off and it cannot be turned back on until rebooting the phone again. This situation repeats. Tried shutting off, safe mode etc. Other users are experiencing this as well since the Feb update today.

Not that it's a real solution to this, but installing the new 12L Beta 3 has completely fixed this issue for myself of several others on Reddit. One user in the issues tracker states that it didn't completely fix it for him, but that's the outlier so far.

I, and many others are having the same issue. Toggling airplane mode reenables wifi but once the screen locks it happens again. How can every update on this phone break something else?

Worst phone ever. Phone that can't make calls, stay connected to wifi. $900 lemon..my hard earned money for this junk. Better to switch to other phone, but there is no trade in for pixel 6 unfortunately

Yeah. It's a problem. Not solved in a timely fashion by Google. It will cost you much data. Google will not compensate you.

Mid March and still no fix and no word on when a fix will be released for Pixel 6, just incredible. I feel so dumb that I believed Google could make an Android phone and the details about the forced arbitration that I did not opt out of the first 30 days just make it even worse. (but thanks for sharing that)

As a hint I have had more success enabling WiFi / hotspot when following this procedure:

1) Turn on airplane mode

2) Reboot phone (can some times be skipped)

3) Turn on WiFi or hotspot

4) Turn off airplane mode (if cell is needed together with WiFi)

Unfortunately, even when the above procedure makes it possible to enable WiFi/hotspot it does not stay working forever, it will turn off again at sometime and the procedure need to be repeated.

Agreed my phone is Essentially useless constantly dropping wifi and Bluetooth in the middle of using my Android Auto in my car to navigate. I also lose service quite frequently due to the update and it's not because I'm in a poor cellular zone. I'm so over this, like where is the update already because it's becoming unbearable.

My wifi don't work, my camera crashes all the time, my battery dies in half a day, and the phone gets super hot after a few minutes of use. What a ripoff for 900 dollars should be remained the pixel 6 amateur, geeze.

March update on the Pixel 6 DID NOT solve the wifi issue despite it being said to solve the issue and promised to solve the issue.

Still experiencing this issue on 3/21. Can't find any pattern regarding what exactly it is, but my wifi will randomly turn off on my Pixel 6 and refuses to turn back on. Sometimes rebooting works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it requires crashing the whole UI. Originally thought it was happening when phone reached low battery, but this last week it has consistently happened at >50% battery life.

This is a device-ruining bug that should have been resolved weeks ago. My Pixel was brand new, unboxed in mid-february, and has not functioned correctly since. I don't have unlimited data, and Wi-Fi randomly turning off could cost money.

While I'm ranting, my Pixel 4a functioned better overall in 2022 than my 6. It doesn't mean anything for a single customer to leave, but I can never again purchase a Google product. If my phone was DOA and Google drags their feet trying to fix the bug, I can never again in good conscience give them money.

@Google: I love you but, let's be honest... you have made us guinea pigs...

I installed the update and everything was working fine for the whole day, until... I made a (11 minute) call. Here we go again!!! WIFI can't turn on, toggling on/off after a sec and so does the Bluetooth! Just like before the March 21st update. It did work again though after a bit just fine!!! Not interacting with the Bluetooth either! Specifically... to reproduce:

Connected to my Router
Receive a call
End call after 11 minutes -> toggling is messed up and behaves like pre-March update
Phone goes to sleep
Wake up the phone after 18 minutes
Toggle the WIFI ON -> WIFI ON and connects to my router!

Conclusion (@Google): Partially fixed with the March Update... needs further work! Come ooon, LETS GO! Waiting for next update!

Waited for the March update to fix my WiFi bug and it's now behaving differently than it was but it still remains - so disappointed

The update we received today seemed to fix my wife's wifi issues on her phone. Mine phone and 4 others in the family never had an issue but Hers did. I let it update this morning and wifi has stayed on all day with no interruptions. Was really upsetting but now that it seems fixed I guess it will just be a bad memory. Hopefully for the rest of you its the same story.
