Pixel 3 suddenly dead out of nowhere, won't respond.

My google pixel 3 suddenly died out of nowhere. I put it on charge last night. Was working perfectly fine this morning, an hour ago, with almost full battery. Suddenly I try to open my phone and it gives no response. I tried rebooting but again no response, I started charging the phone but charge icon won't show up and phone remains unresponsive and won't open. I had previously dropped the phone a month ago and cracked the screen, took it to uBreakiFix and had no issues since they repaired my screen. But suddenly phone is dead I can't open it I can't use it. And the google help center options have had nothing helpful about it.

Hello and welcome,

Try holding the power button for 30 seconds and then see if it will turn on.

Mine conked off right after the warranty period got over. Phone went dead while charging google pixel 3xl. Have tried everything but it’s not working

Mine has just done the same thing. Plugged charger in and the phone went blank. I have tried everything and nothing will work.

@google had best replace my phone. I haven't even finished the two year contract that took out in order to have the phone.

very frustrating and clearly something is wrong with the product as there seems to be alot of people saying the exact same thing and all have started since september 2019.

I'm certainly not (!) a techie by any means, but the problem indicated here is exactly what has
happened to my original Google phone...just went totally dead and unresponsive. I then went
and purchased an unlocked Google 3a from Amazon and now I can't transfer ANY of my data
from old to new phone. It seems this is not only my problem as others are reporting the same
results...Now what? I may just return the 3a to Amazon and find another good phone...grrr

...just to add to my above message, I have just realized that I had just received notification on my last bill that my contract was completed and now it's totally DEAD! AS others have reported same situation it appears there is a pattern here... Contract expires, phone dies! ? I absolutely will return the new 3a without
even  have used it and get another phone brand...sounds like a scam to me!!

My Pixel 3A XL went dead for 2 hours or so.  Holding down the start button for 20-30 seconds resulted in the Google start screen trying to load, and then a black screen again.  Put it away for a few hours, came back to it, and it was fine.  Lucky I guess as I am away from home on holiday

Same thing happened to me a few days ago.
My Pixel3 had about 70% of its battery charge, left it on my desk and when I came back I found it powered off and unresponsive.
I have tried every kind of usual mix of keys (power + vol down, etc ...) for more than 30 seconds, plugged in, off, etc ... Still nothing.
Strange thing is when I plug it to my computer, it is recognized as QHSUSB_BULK, but again nothing happens.
My Pixel3 is on stock Android 10, never messed with roms or bootloader, etc ...

I am in touch with Google Repair Center as my phone is still covered by its warranty, but because of Covid19, they are not very responsive.

My OGXL 128 GB which was given to me as a replacement device in August last year died on me couple of weeks back. Now they are quoting 300 USD (converted from 21798 INR) for repair charge. I already paid a sum total of 65 USD for repair for the same device under two services, one for broken vibration motor in January, and the other back in August last year which actually got me the device. Daylight robbery is being conducted by B2X, the Indian after sales service for Pixel phones. A total scam going in the name of servicing.

I posted everything in details in a thread created just an hour ago but they removed it citing some privacy policy violation. What policy did i violate exactly? Care to mention. This is how you think you can shut us the users? What level are you going down to exactly?

Same thing here. I was reading an article, battery was at 40-50% as I was scrolling the screen went black. Tried charging it, but its just vibrates when I plug it in, otherwise it is totally unresponsive. The phone has absolutely no physical or water damage. According to "find my phone" the phone has been off since the screen went dark. Took it to ubreakifix after speaking to customer support, who 1 lead me to believe that the repair would be covered, drove an hour to this shop only to have the guy try to convince me its a broken screen digitizer, but the phone is otherwise "on and functioning" and the repair would cost $260. Even though I am 2 months out of warranty they specifically fail to mention that when they check your IMEI # and tell you to go to get it repaired. I don't believe that is the issue at all if it was just the screen i would still hear my phone ring, etc. SO tech support and the authorized repair shops are just as incompetent as the manufacturer. I am currently using my 5 Year old LG G4 with a partially cracked screen that works. I've just never had a phone die like this out of nowhere. I def will NOT be purchasing another google device and will make sure to tell everyone I know of this awful experience. #NOTTEAMPIXEL

my Pixel 3a XL went dead out of nowhere. Tried to reset it all the button but no luck.
I only had it for 5 months having bought it in Oct. I loved the phone until it just die for no reason.
Very disappointed.

ps. days prior to the death, there was a pending android update to be installed. not sure anything to do with it.

My Pixel 3 XL just went dead out of nowhere.  Last night I charged to 100%, did some reading this morning. Later when I pulled it out of my pocket the screen was black, power on/off seemed to have no effect.  Then I left it plugged in for a few hours in case the battery had drained -- no indication of any charging, screen won't go on.
I tried pressing power button for 30 seconds.  After about 10-15 seconds it started up.

It's nice that this works, but the overall behavior is pretty discouraging.  This after the Pixel 3 XL gets repeated popup messages about Bluetooth app has died. Only a reboot of phone makes this go away. Sometimes this phone requires 3-5 reboots per day.

Combined it is a poor user experience for $1000 phone.

My Nexus Pixel 3a just went dead suddenly this morning. It should be fully charged  overnight and it worked early this morning. I tried reboot several time by holding both power and volume down buttons. It did not response at all.  I was trying to disconnect the battery. Since it is too complicated, I was in vain.  I was almost giving up. However, I kept to repeat the reboot step and pushing two buttons as much long as I can (more than 30 seconds) whenever I am free, since I am not patient to holding it forever.  Based on Mert Karamolla's post, this action can drain the battery. This afternoon, when I did the same step again, suddenly, there is response and the screen shows FASTBOOT MODE and there is big START and arrow indicated on the power button (see the image). When I push the power button,  it  starts to reboot and now it seems the phone is working normally again. And I found that the battery level is down to less than 50%.  Hope this will be helpful. Thanks,
