Repair your own Pixel device

If your Pixel device needs a repair, you're not limited to walk-in and mail-in options. You can repair it by yourself.

Tip: It’s recommended that only users with relevant technical experience consider self-repair options.

Before and after a repair, you can use the Pixel Repair Diagnostics App to check for problems with your device.

Pixel 3 and later and Pixel Tablet includes a Pixel Repair Diagnostics App that helps check your phone’s performance.

How to use the Pixel Repair Diagnostics App
  1. While connected to the internet, open your Phone app .
  2. Tap the dial pad .
  3. Dial the following: *#*#7287#*#*.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Tap Confirm.
  6. To update your OS and adjust the Under-Display Fingerprint Sensor (UDFPS), go to:

How to use the Pixel Tablet Diagnostics App
  1. Go to Google Pixel Update and Software Repair.
  2. Click Diagnose your device (Tablet only).
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions:
    1. Enter repair mode. Learn how to use repair mode.
    2. Connect your Pixel Tablet to your computer with a USB cable.
    3. On your tablet, tap Activate Tool.
    4. Check your Wi-Fi connection.
    5. To accept diagnostic availability, click OK.
