Fix slow wireless charging on your Pixel phone

Use the steps on this page to fix problems with slow wireless charging on your Pixel phone.

Check for overheating

• Let your phone cool off and try again.
• Make sure that the phone isn’t in direct sun or next to another heat source.
• Remove the phone from its case.
• Check to see if chargers are blocking airflow to your phone.
• Keep the screen dark while charging.

Check apps & connectivity

• After cooling your phone, restart it and try again. There might be apps running in the background that drain power.
• Check strength of wireless and cellular coverage. If coverage is poor, the device will likely burn more power.

Tip: Try turning on Airplane Mode when charging in poor connection areas.

Check physical problems

• Remove any metallic or magnetic objects, like ring holders, Apple MagSafe, or PopSockets, from the back of your phone.
• Make sure your phone is aligned correctly on the wireless charger.

Tip: When Adaptive Charging is active, slow charging over 80% is expected. Your phone will be fully charged before you wake up.
