Uploading Photos Not Always Working

Question

When trying to upload images from my computer to Google Photos via the web, Google Photos often uploads less than half of the images before quitting and saying that X amount of images were skipped.  When I then try to upload the exact same images, more of the images are uploaded than before, but several are still skipped.  I then have to continue uploading the same images until the vast majority of them are uploaded.  This does not seem like a normal solution.  I have rebooted my computer.  I was originally using Firefox, but switched to Chrome.  I have cleared caches (browser and computer).  I have even closed my eyes real tight and wished upon a star.  All to no avail.  I have hundreds of thousands of images in total, but am only able to upload around 900 images before it goes crazy.  I would try the Google Photos Upload tool, if it were available in Ubuntu, but alas, it is not.  Any ideas?

Hi, Google is aware of this issue and is working on a fix. Retrying is the only temporary workaround available,

Hello again, Google believe they have fixed this issue and are requesting users to try again to see if it is clear for all.
If you still have problems, please submit feedback under the Title: NETWORK ERRORS Uploading still an issue in my area (stating country or state with a brief description of the remaining issue)
The use of capitals for the subject will stand out in the feedback report and make it easier for the techs to collate any reports.

@PeteranDi, Thank you for your reply. So far, I have been able to upload, in a single attempt, 16,592 images.  Next I will try a single upload of 231,854 images.  If that works, I will be amazed that both Google and my computer were able to conduct such a feat.  Stay tuned...
EDIT:
So, that did not work, and it reminded me of another issue with GP regarding knowing where to pickup when transfers fail.  But, the error provided by Google Chrome was regarding the failed upload and that my system had run out of memory.  I am going to break the 231,854 images into smaller chunks, and try again.
EDIT EDIT:
I broke the 231,854 into smaller chunks, and that seemed to work.  The largest bunch of images was of 132,605 images, and I am guessing they all were uploaded.  My uncertainty is that Google Photos' popup finished uploading box says, 135,621 images were uploaded.  I am not sure how that happened.
All in all, I am once again able to upload images to Google Photos without Google Photos crashing or otherwise ending the uploads.  Next, I need to figure a solution to why, "Google Photos Not Providing Facial Recognition or Not Bundling People" https://support.google.com/photos/thread/82372?hl=en
