Share photos & videos

You can share photos, videos, albums, and movies with anyone, even if they don't use the Google Photos app.

Before you get started

Download and install the Google Photos app.

Share with other people

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Photos app Photos.
  2. Sign in to your Google Account.
  3. Select a photo, album, or movie to share.
  4. Tap Share Share.
  5. Tap To and select people to share with.
  6. You can add a message, then tap Send. To manage these messages, go to the activity log

Notes:

  • A link will be sent to the people you share with. Anyone that has the shared link will be able to see the album or photos you shared.
  • If you share an album that automatically adds photos of face groups, anyone with the album link can see photos as they're added.
  • If you share a video captured fully or partially in slow motion, others may be able to see any part of the video at a slower speed in their own player.

Send a link or share to other apps

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Photos app Photos.
  2. Select a photo, album, or movie to share.
  3. Tap Share Share.
  4. Select another app to share or send someone a link.
  5. You might be asked to choose how you want to share. Choose either:
    • Link: Google Photos creates a link to the items you want to share. The items you share will be the same quality as when they were uploaded. Anyone that has the link will be able to see the photos or videos.
    • Actual files: Google Photos sends the items you want to share directly to the app you want to share with. Other apps may compress files.
    • Small files: Google Photos sends a smaller version of the items directly to the app you want to share with.
