How to fix: Offer does not exist

Inventory offers could not be matched with product data

The inventory offers in your local inventory feed can’t be successfully matched with your local products. Normally, Merchant Center identifies local product offers that correspond with product IDs while processing IDs in your local product inventory feed. However, in this case, no corresponding offers were found.

To view the number of inventory offers affected by this error, go to your Merchant Center account, navigate to the “Feeds” section (under “Products”), and click on the relevant local product inventory feed.

If the entire feed is affected, follow the instructions in Step 1 below. If only a subset of offers are affected, proceed to Steps 2 and 3.

Instructions

Step 1: Resolve the issue

If the entire local product inventory feed is affected, ensure that the primary feed or Content API is enabled for local inventory ads or free local product listings.
  • If your primary feed or Content API has been enabled for local inventory ads or free local product listings, ensure that the country and content language of the local product inventory feed matches the target country and the language of your primary feed. To view the selected country and language of each feed, navigate to the “Settings” tab for each respective feed.
  • If the country and language for both feeds match, ensure that you either re-process or update the inventory feed. The inventory feed should be updated or processed after the primary feed is updated.
Note: You must process the product data first to ensure it can be matched with the inventory data.

If the entire inventory feed is still affected, follow the steps below to see why your offers couldn’t be matched.

Step 2: Get a list of IDs that could not be matched with your product data

  1. Sign in to your Merchant Center account.
  2. Select Products on the navigation menu, then click Feeds.
  3. Select the relevant local product inventory feed.
  4. Click the Processing tab.
    • To download a list (.csv) of all affected offers for all issues:
      • Click Download report.
      • When the download is complete, open the file in a spreadsheet.
      • In the spreadsheet, filter the “Message” column to view all data with the “Offer does not exist” error and copy all the identified offers to a new sheet or spreadsheet file.
      • The report file will list each offer ID for each store code. You can remove duplicates from the item ID column, as this will give you a list of unique IDs that couldn’t be matched with IDs in your product data.
Important: The downloadable report in the “Feed Processing” tab contains up to 100,000 rows. If your local product inventory feed contains a higher number of errors, the report won’t be able to provide a full list of affected IDs. Review the offer IDs, then, repeat Step 2.

Step 3: Identify why inventory offer IDs couldn’t be matched

To resolve this issue, use the list of unique IDs from your local product inventory feed that couldn’t be matched with your local product data and follow the steps below:

1. Review the errors in the “Processing” tab of your primary feed

Products that are rejected during feed processing won’t be included in Merchant Center and won’t be available to match against your inventory data.

Review the unique IDs from your inventory feed against the local products that were rejected during the processing of your primary feed. Addressing the relevant processing errors in your primary feed will resolve the “Offer does not exist” errors in your inventory feed.

2. Identify if the rejected offer IDs are within your internal product catalog

If there aren’t any processing errors in your primary feed that correspond to the rejected IDs, run your primary feed against your internal product catalog to ensure they correspond to genuine products.

  • If they do correspond to genuine products, add the relevant product information for those offers to your primary feed, which is enabled for local inventory ads or free local product listings. This allows your offers to be shown as local products on Google for your relevant stores.
  • If none of the offer IDs can be found in your product catalog, the IDs might not be genuine and might’ve been introduced by a formatting error instead. Review your feed setup and remove any incorrect data.
Note: If your inventory is still being rejected, use the contact us form for assistance.
