How to fix: Unverified phone number

Go to the Business information page or use the Content API to verify your business phone number

A valid phone number for your business has not yet been verified for your Merchant Center account. As a result your account has been suspended and your ads and free listings have stopped. To resolve this issue and get your ads and listings back up and running, use your Merchant Center account to verify a valid phone number for your business.

If you don’t have a Merchant Center account, you can use the Content API for Shopping to verify your business phone number. Read the phone verification guide for examples and more details


  1. Log in to your Merchant Center account.
  2. Click the tools icon Tools and setting menu icon [Gear], then click Business information from the “Tools” menu.
  3. Add a valid phone number on the “Phone number” card and click Verify.
  4. Select a method to receive a verification code (either voice call or text message).
  5. Enter the code in Merchant Center and click Finish (Verification may take a few seconds).
Note: If the code doesn't work the first time, try requesting a new code or changing the way you receive it.
