Find & save parking locations

Before you start driving, you can look up places to park your car. After you reach your destination, you can save your parking location so that you can find it later.

Notes:

  • You can only find parking near your destination in some U.S. cities.
  • You can't look up places to park on iPhone or iPad.

Add a parking lot or garage to your route

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. At the top, search for a destination.
  3. On the bottom, tap Directions.
  4. At the bottom, tap Steps & parking
  5. Tap Find parking near destination.
  6. Choose a parking lot or garage and tap Add parking.
  7. On the bottom, tap Start.

Save where you're parked

You can save your parking location so you can remember where you left your car.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Tap the blue dot that shows your location.
  3. Tap Save your parking.

Your parking location will be saved in Google Maps until you remove it.

Move your parking location

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Tap the search bar and then Parking location.
  3. On the bottom, tap Parking location and then Change location.

To remove your parking location from Maps, tap Clear Clear.

Add notes about your parking location

You can add photos and notes, like which floor your car is on or how much time is left.
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Tap the search bar and then Parking location.
  3. To add a photo or note, tap More info.

Share your parking location with others

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Tap the search bar and then Parking location.
  3. Tap More info and then Share Share.

Find where you're parked

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Tap the search bar and then Parking location.
  3. On the bottom, tap Directions Directions.

Pay for parking from Google Maps

  1. Drive to your Parking spot.
  2. At the bottom, tap Pay for Parking.
  3. After Google Pay opens, you can pay for your parking.

Turn notifications on or off

You can get notifications for parking information, like where you parked and for how long.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Tap your profile picture or initial Account Circle  and then Settings Settings.
  3. Tap Notifications and then Places.
  4. Scroll down, then turn Saved parking on or off.
