Transfer photo rights

When you transfer a 360 photo to someone else, you’ll keep a copy of the photo in your "Profile" and be credited as the contributor for both copies. The view count and trusted program credit for the photo will stay with:

  • The original photo contributor
  • The prior owner of the photo (if the photo has been transferred multiple times)
  • The current photo owner

To transfer photo rights

  1. Open the Street View app .
  2. Under “Profile,” open a photo that you’ve published.
  3. In the top right, tap More More.
  4. Choose Transfer rights.
  5. If your photo has been added to a verified Maps listing, the recipient field will automatically be filled in with the Maps listing name and the manager or owner of the listing will be the recipient. If you want to change the recipient, you can enter an email address. The email address has to be a Gmail account or associated with a Google account.
  6. Tap Transfer rights.

Notes:

  • You can only transfer rights for 360 photos that comply with the Google Maps Image Acceptance and Privacy Policies.
  • If you have five transfers in process, you won’t be able to transfer more photos. You’ll be able to transfer photos rights again when one of your requested transfers is accepted or 60 days have passed, whichever comes first.
  • If you're a trusted photographer, there's no limit to how many transfers you can do at once.
  • You can find 360 photos that you published before November 2016 in the Geo Panoramas folder in Google Photos. When you delete, move, share, or hide 360 photos from the Geo Panoramas folder, those photos will be deleted from Google Maps.
