To improve Google Maps and share your favorite photos and videos up to 30 seconds long, add them to Google Maps. You can add or remove them at any time. You can't add photos or videos to addresses or coordinates.

When you post photos or videos, others can also find:

• Your name that appears on your About me page
• Other photos and videos you added to Google Maps
• Reviews you wrote on Google Maps
• Location info on your photos and videos

Add photos or videos to Google Maps

Add photos or videos from "Contribute"

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app .
2. Tap Contribute .
3. Under the "Contribute" tab, tap Add photo.
   • To post a photo or video: Tap one or more photos or video.
   • To edit a photo or video’s location: Tap the name of the place, then select a different place.
4. Tap Post.

Tip: To get suggestions for photos or videos to add to Google Maps, make sure you have the Google Photos app installed with back up & sync and Location History turned on. To remove a suggestion, tap .

Add photos or videos from a place's page

1. On your Android device, open Google Maps .
2. To get to a place's page, pick one:
   • In the search field, enter the name of the place.
   • On the map, tap the place.
3. At the bottom, tap the place's name or address.
4. In the bottom menu bar, pull left.
5. Tap Photos  Add a photo.
6. Choose what you want to do:
   • To choose a photo or video from your gallery, tap Folder.
   • To take a new photo or video, tap Camera.

Add photos or videos from Google Photos or your Gallery app

1. On your Android device, open Google Photos or your Gallery app.
2. Tap the photo or video you want to add.
3. At the bottom, tap Share Add to Maps.
4. At the top, tap Select a place.
5. Choose where the photo was taken.
6. At the top right, tap Post.

Find your photos or videos on Google Maps

To find what you've shared on Google Maps:

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app .
2. Tap Contribute   See contributions.

Delete photos or videos in the Google Maps app

Photos you delete from Google Maps are also automatically deleted from Google Search.

To delete a photo or video:

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app .
2. Tap Contribute   See contributions.
3. Select the photo or video you want to delete.
4. In the top right, tap Remove  Delete.

Photos or videos you delete from Google Maps are not automatically deleted from:

• Your phone or tablet’s gallery
• Google Photos, if you have back up & sync turned on
• Google Drive, if you have sync turned on

Mark photos or videos as helpful or unhelpful

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app .
2. Search for a place or tap it on the map.
3. At the bottom, tap the place's name or address.
4. At the top, tap Photos.
5. Choose from the following:
   • To mark a photo or video as helpful, tap Helpful . The author may be notified, but your name and info aren’t shared. The total number of helpful votes isn't shared.
   • To mark a photo or video as unhelpful, tap Unhelpful . The author isn’t notified, and the total number of unhelpful votes isn’t shared.

Tips:

• To remove your vote, tap the icon again.
• If the photo or video is illegal or violates Google policy, you can report it.

Report photos or videos on Google Maps

1. Search for a place or tap it on the map.
2. Scroll to the photos section, then select the photo or video you want to report.
3. In the upper right, tap Report .
4. Select or write the reason for your report.
