Add, remove or share photos and videos

To improve Google Maps and share your favourite photos and videos, add them to Google Maps. You can add or remove them at any time. You can't add photos or videos to addresses or coordinates.

When you post photos, others can also find:

  • Your name that appears on your About me page
  • Other photos you added to Google Maps
  • Reviews you wrote on Google Maps
  • Location info on your photos and videos

Add photos or videos to Google Maps

You can add media like photos and videos for points of interest, like businesses or parks. You can’t add media to addresses or coordinates. Learn more about photo updates of a place.

Add photos from 'Contribute'

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Tap Contribute Contribute and then Add photo.
    • To post a photo: tap one or more photos.
    • To edit a photo’s location: tap the name of the place, then  select a different place.
  3. Tap Post.

Add photos from a place's page

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Search for a place or tap it on the map.
  3. To get more info, at the bottom, tap the place’s name or address.
  4. Tap Photos and then Add photos.
  5. Choose what you want to do:
    • Choose a photo from your gallery: Select one or more photos.
    • Take a new photo: tap Camera, then tap the shutter.

Tip: To get suggestions for photos to add to Google Maps, make sure that you have the Google Photos app installed with back up & sync and Location History turned on. To remove a suggestion, tap Clear.

Add photos from Google Photos or your Gallery app

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open your Gallery app or Google Photos Photos.
  2. Select a photo.
  3. Tap Share Share and then Post to Google Maps Maps.
    • If you can't find that option, tap More 더보기 and then Post to Google Maps Maps and then Done.
  4. Choose where to post:
    • If it’s clear where your photo or video is from, Google Maps will select a place for you.
    • If not, tap Pick a place and search for an address or place.
  5. Tap Post.

Find your photos on Google Maps

To find all the photos that you've shared on Google Maps:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Tap Contribute Contribute and then See your photos.

Delete photos in the Google Maps app

Photos that you delete from Google Maps are also automatically removed from Google Search:

To delete a photo:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. Tap Contribute Contribute and then See your photos.
  3. Select the photo that you want to delete.
  4. Tap More 더보기 and then Delete this photo.

Photos that you delete from Google Maps aren't automatically removed from:

Report a photo on Google Maps

If you see something in Google Maps that is inappropriate or inaccurate, you can let us know.

  1. Search for a place or tap it on the map.
  2. Scroll to the photos section, then pick the photo that you want to report.
  3.  Tap More 더보기 and then Report this photo.
  4. Select the reason for your report.
