To improve Google Maps and share your favourite photos and videos up to 30 seconds long, add them to Google Maps. You can add or remove them at any time. You can't add photos or videos to addresses or coordinates.
When you post photos, others can also find:
- Your name that appears on your About me page
- Other photos you added to Google Maps
- Reviews you wrote on Google Maps
- Location info on your photos and videos

Add photos or videos to Google Maps
You can add media such as photos and videos of places of interest, like businesses or parks. You can't add media to:
- Addresses
- Coordinates
- Private residences
- Geographical areas

Add photos or videos from 'Contribute'
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app .
- Tap Contribute Add photo.
- To post a photo or video: Tap one or more photos or videos.
- To edit a photo or video’s location: Tap the name of the place, then select a different place.
- Tap Post.
Add photos or videos from a place's page
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app .
- Search for a place or tap it on the map.
- To get more info, at the bottom, tap the place’s name or address.
- Tap Photos Add photos.
- Choose what you want to do:
- Choose a photo or video from your gallery: Select one or more photos or videos.
- Take a new photo or video: Tap Camera, then tap the shutter.
Tip: To get suggestions for photos or videos to add to Google Maps, make sure that you have the Google Photos app installed with back up & sync and Location History turned on. To remove a suggestion, tap .
Add photos or videos from Google Photos or your Gallery app
- On your iPhone or iPad, open your Gallery app or Google Photos .
- Select a photo or video.
- Tap Share Post to Google Maps .
- If you can't find that option, tap More Post to Google Maps Done.
- Choose where to post:
- If it’s clear where your photo or video is from, Google Maps will select a place for you.
- If not, tap Pick a place and search for an address or place.
- Tap Post.
Find your photos or videos on Google Maps
To find all the photos that you've shared on Google Maps:
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app .
- Tap Contribute See contributions.
Delete photos or videos in the Google Maps app
Photos or videos that you delete from Google Maps are also automatically removed from Google Search.
To delete a photo or video:
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app .
- Tap Contribute See contributions.
- Select the photo or video that you want to delete.
- Tap More Delete this photo.
Photos or videos that you delete from Google Maps aren't automatically removed from:
- Your phone or iPad’s gallery
- Google Photos, if you have back up & sync turned on
- Google Drive, if you have sync turned on

Turn on or off video auto-play
- Tap the profile icon Settings Video settings.
- To turn on or off auto-play, tap the toggle.
Report photos or videos on Google Maps

If you see something in Google Maps that is inappropriate or inaccurate, you can let us know.
- Search for a place or tap it on the map.
- Scroll to the photos section, then pick the photo or video that you want to report.
- Tap More Report this photo.
- Select the reason for your report.
