Add, remove, or share photos in Google Maps

You can add your photos to Google Maps or remove them at any time. You can't add photos for addresses.

When you post photos, here are some more things that others will be able to see:

Add a photo

Add a photo from a place's page

  1. On your computer, open Google Maps and search for a place.
  2. After you've selected a place, click Add a photo. You might have to scroll down to see this.
  3. A box will appear. Drag the photo that you’d like to upload, or click Choose photos to upload.

Notes:

  • If you're using Maps in Lite mode, you can't add a photo.
  • You can only add photos for points of interest, like businesses or parks, but not addresses or coordinates.

Add photos from “Your contributions”

  1. Make sure that you have Location History turned on.
  2. On your computer, open Google Maps
  3. In the top left, click the Menu Menu and then Your contributions.
  4. Under the “Contribute” tab, click Add your photos to Maps. You might not see this option if you haven't taken any photos with your phone or we can't find a location for your photos.
    • To post a photo, click one or more photos.
    • To edit a photo’s location, click the place name and select a different place.
  5. At the top, click Post Post.

See your photos

To see all the photos you've shared on Google Maps, follow the steps below.
  1. On your computer, open Google Maps
  2. In the top left, click the Menu Menu.
  3. Click Your contributions.
  4. Choose Photos.

Delete a photo using Google Maps

To delete a photo you’ve shared on Google Maps, follow the steps below.

  1. On your computer, open Google Maps
  2. In the top left, click the Menu Menu.
  3. Click Your contributions.
  4. Choose Photos.
  5. Find the photo you’d like to delete.
  6. In the top right corner of the photo, click More More.
  7. Click Delete this photo.
What if I delete something that’s used somewhere else?

Photos you delete on Google Maps are also removed from:

Photos you delete aren’t automatically removed from:

  • Your phone or tablet’s gallery
  • Google Drive, if you have sync turned on
  • Google+

Share a photo

To share a photo, follow the steps below.

  1. On your computer, open Google Maps
  2. In the top left, click the Menu Menu.
  3. Click Your contributions.
  4. Choose Photos.
  5. Find the photo you’d like to share.
  6. In the top right, click More More.
  7. Click Share.

Prevent web images from pages that you own from appearing in Google Maps

Photos that are made available on the web might be automatically included in Google Maps.

If you see a photo from the web on Google Maps that you don’t want to have appear in Google Maps, you’ll need to do one of the following to prevent them from showing up in Google Maps:
