You can let Gmail help you write emails faster. The Smart Compose feature is powered by machine learning and will offer suggestions as you type.
Note: Smart Compose is a Google Account-level setting. Changes to Smart Compose settings are applied on any device where your account is signed in.
Turn Smart Compose on or off
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail app .
- At the top left, tap Menu Settings .
- Under "Compose and Reply," to:
- Turn off predictions: Turn off "Smart compose."
- Turn on predictions: Turn on "Smart compose."
Turn custom suggestions on or off
Note: Custom suggestions can only be changed from a computer.
On a computer, follow these steps to turn custom suggestions off or on again.
