Conversation summary in spaces

To stay updated on long, unread conversations in spaces where you’re a member, use conversation summary.

Important: Conversation summaries currently only:

• Appear when necessary in conversations.
• Summarize conversations in English.
• Are available on Google Workspace accounts.

To turn conversation summary on & off in Google Chat:

1. On your computer, open Google Chat.
2. Click Settings   Conversation summary.
3. Check or uncheck the box next to “Show summaries in spaces that have many unread messages.”

To turn conversation summary on & off in Gmail:

1. On your computer, open Gmail.
2. Click Settings   See all settings  Chat and Meet.
3. Click Manage chat settings  Conversation summary.
4. Check or uncheck the box next to “Show summaries in spaces that have many unread messages.”
