When you buy a movie on Blu-ray or DVD, you may be eligible to redeem a digital copy of the movie. You don't need to add a payment method, as there is no charge for the digital copy.

Step 1: Sign in to or create a Google Account
- On an Android phone, open the Google Play Store app
.
- At the top right, tap your Profile picture.
- Select the account you want to use.
- To add another account or create a new account, tap Add another account. Learn how to create a Google Account.
Step 2: Use the promotional code to get a Google Play code for your movie
You can only get the digital copy of the same movie that you bought in DVD or Blu-ray. The digital copy will also match the quality of your DVD or Blu-ray copy, so if you bought a DVD in SD quality, your digital copy will also be in SD.
Important: You can only redeem your promotional code within the country that you bought your DVD or Blu-ray. If you’re traveling and you bought a DVD or Blu-ray with a digital copy, make sure to redeem the digital copy before you leave that country.
Check the DVD or Blu-ray movie for instructions to redeem your digital copy. If you got a promotional code, follow the steps below:
- Depending on where you got your movie, open their redemption site. Check redemption sites for different partners.
- On the website, enter the promotional code that you got with your DVD or Blu-ray.
- At the bottom you’ll see Result: Google Play Code xxxxxx.
- Copy the code to redeem on Google Play Store.
Step 3: Get your movie on Google Play
- Open the Google Play app
- At the top right, tap the profile icon.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions

- Enter the code.
- Tap Redeem.
