Earn & redeem in-game rewards

In some mobile games, you can earn in-game rewards when you watch eligible live streams on YouTube. To earn these rewards, you can watch:

• In the YouTube app.
• On the YouTube web page on your desktop.

Important: You must be signed in with your Google Play Games account.

Earn game rewards on YouTube

1. Open the YouTube app.
   • If you’re not signed in: Sign in with a Google Account.
2. Open a YouTube live stream or video that offers rewards.
3. Under the video, tap Rewards .
4. Follow the instructions to create or connect a Google Play Games account.
5. To earn the reward, you must watch the video.

Tip: You must watch the video for a specific amount of time. The game developer decides this specific amount of time.

Redeem in-game rewards

Important: You have 30 days to redeem a reward in your game. After 30 days, the reward expires.

To redeem a reward:

1. Open the game.
2. Sign in with the Google Play Games account you connected to YouTube.
3. Redeem a reward in your game.

Fix issues with game rewards

Didn’t get a reward you earned

If you don’t get a confirmation email: You might not have earned a reward for the game. For more help, find out why you didn’t earn a reward after you watched a video. 

If you got a confirmation email but can’t redeem your reward: Try the steps below. Your rewards might take a few minutes to be delivered.

Step 1: Troubleshoot apps

• Update your apps.
• Sign out of the game, then sign back in.
• On your device, force stop and then relaunch the game.

Step 2: Check if your account is connected

1. Open the YouTube app.
2. At the top, tap your profile picture  Settings.
3. Tap Connected apps.
4. Tap a game.
   • If the game says “Not connected": Follow the on-screen steps to connect.

Step 3: Check if you’re signed in to the right accounts

1. In the YouTube app, at the top, tap the profile icon.
   • If you find your profile: You’re already signed in.
   • If you don’t: Sign in to your account.
2. Make sure the account you use on YouTube matches your account for Play Games.

Didn’t earn reward after you watched a video

Step 1: Restart the game

Rewards take up to 30 minutes for delivery. If you didn’t receive your reward after 30 minutes, close the game and open it again.

Step 2: Make sure the video was reward-eligible

In the YouTube app, find the video.

• If you find the Rewards , the video offers rewards.
• If it’s not there, there are no rewards for this video or the offer expired.

Step 3: Check if your account is connected

1. Open the YouTube app.
2. At the top, tap your profile picture  Settings.
3. Tap Connected apps.
4. Tap a game.
   • If the game says “Not connected": Follow the on-screen steps to connect.

Step 4: Check if you’re signed in to the right account

1. In the YouTube app, at the top, tap the profile icon.
   • If you find your profile: You’re already signed in.
   • If you don’t: Sign in to your account.
2. Make sure the account you use on YouTube matches your account for Play Games.

Step 5: Watch more of the video

Developers decide how long you have to watch the video to earn the reward. If you only watched part of the video, watch longer to earn a reward.

Step 6: Check email settings and spam folders

• Check if the email confirmation for your reward was sent to your junk or spam folder.
• Check whether you unsubscribed from emails from the game.

Can't connect account

1. In the YouTube app, at the top, tap the profile icon.
   • If you find your profile: You’re already signed in.
   • If you don't: Sign in to your account.
2. Make sure the account you use on YouTube is the same one you use for Play Games.
