The Google Pixel Watch Minute
Announcement
Hi everybody,
Since the launch of the Google Pixel Watch, we’ve been eagerly looking out for your feedback. We want to know what you love about it and, just as importantly, we want to answer any questions you might have so that you can get the most out of your Pixel Watch experience. Let’s go over some of our recent highlights and trending discussion topics in the world of Pixel Watch.
Community helpers
We’d like to shine a spotlight on Sam Gomm and John Haley for helping out Scott Lansing 3842 with how to download the latest software update for Pixel Watch. You’ve both saved other community members a lot of time with these useful tips!
Another comment that saved the day solved how to get custom turn by turn navigation on Pixel Watch for a run or bike ride. Happy trails to all the adventurers out there!
Recent announcements
- We’re putting safety at the forefront with the addition of Fall detection, which can sense if you take a hard fall and contact emergency services if you aren’t able to move or respond to the prompt on your Pixel Watch within a given timeframe.*
- The first update for the Pixel Watch app is available as of February 2023. If you haven’t updated already, make sure you get the latest version from the Google Play Store!
- We’ve also rolled out monthly software updates in January, February, and March for all supported Pixel Watch devices.
*Fall detection is not available in all countries and is dependent upon network connectivity and other factors. Your watch may not be reliable for emergency communications. Fall detection may not detect all falls. To call emergency services on a Google Pixel Watch without 4G LTE, your paired phone needs to be nearby. See g.co/pixelwatch/personalsafety for more details.
Trending topics in the community
- Fall detection in Germany:
Germany does not allow devices to automatically call emergency services. But watches purchased in Germany can use fall detection while visiting other supported countries.- As an alternate safety measure, users in Germany can leverage Emergency SOS on Google Pixel Watch if they need help. This feature alerts emergency responders or trusted contacts when they’re in an emergency or feeling unsafe.

- Can I connect a new phone to Pixel Watch without a factory reset?
No, you’ll need to factory reset your Pixel Watch to connect it to a new phone.
- What’s going on with my notifications?
If your notifications aren’t working quite the way you expected, it might be a matter of adjusting your settings. For more info on how to customize your notifications, check out how to change settings, alarms, and notifications on Google Pixel Watch.
