The watch is still a problem that I noticed today... Same story as everyone else. Frustrating.

- Exact problem: On my Pixel Watch 2, when I try to use Google Assistant to start a timer using my voice, it responds with "All right, which app do you want to use?" If I say "clock", it simply opens the Clock app and does nothing else.
- I can use Google Assistant voice commands on the phone that is connected to the Watch without issue
- The watch does show as connected in the Watch app
- Pixel Watch 2 with Wear 4.0
- Pixel 8 Pro with Android 14
- Default timer/clock app, not third party
- Restarting devices did not fix it
- Clearing Watch cache did not fix it
The idea of a factory reset on the watch was mentioned, but I am not eager to go that route since other folks are having this issue and it is a new issue.

- Reset and disconnect the watch and set the watch back up (this might not be the solution, see belw)
- Update all apps
I can start timers on my watch again.
It is possible that Updating apps was the actual fix. So, if you have not manually gone into your watch apps and confirmed that your apps are up to date (especially Assistant), you might try that first.
But if all else fails, this "nuclear option" of a watch reset worked for me. Here are the two ways to do that.
Reset from the Google Pixel Watch app
- On your phone, open the Google Pixel Watch app .
- Tap System
Reset and unpair watch.
Reset from your Google Pixel Watch
- On Google Pixel Watch, swipe down
tap Settings
.
- Tap System.
- Scroll down and tap Disconnect & reset
Ok
