Google Pixel Watch Update - February 2023

Hello Pixel Watch Community,
 
We have provided the monthly software update for February 2023. All supported Pixel Watch devices running Wear OS 3.5 will receive these software updates starting today. The rollout will continue over the next week in phases depending on carrier and device. Users will receive a notification once the OTA becomes available for their device. We encourage you to update to receive the latest software.

That's it? Just security?

No DND sync with Pixels (or other Androids), no automatic Bedtime Mode, no automatic fitness launch, no battery saving for night mode. These are fairly standard smart watch features I feel.

Ask the assistant for a hand wash timer, that's the easiest way.

Hey Google, are you ever gonna fix the massive SMS bug that's been reported since October and has over 104 replies of people complaining? Can you at least formally acknowledge it?

I'm having this exact same issue, it's abysmal. It's probably the #1 thing making me consider returning the watch. I got a smart watch so I can leave my phone, but I can't because the pixel watch won't let me text. Please fix this Google!

Another month has passed and yet no sign of actual product improvement. 

DND sync functionality is essential, same goes for Automatic Bedtime mode. Blood oxygen sensor is available but unused because development is not done yet. 
How can a watch be launched without these basic functions?

Ça serait cool de pouvoir désactiver le capteur d'empreinte cardiaque ou de pouvoir le régler pour que celui ci d'active tout les 10 minutes ou plus ou quand on bouge plus pendant un moment comme chez la concurrence.

This will be the last time I give a wear device a chance.  Besides the ridiculousness of having a lte device that can't text, now my stupid watch app keeps forgetting that it already has a "NEW" watch set up.

Since the update today, the lock screen continuously blinks. A few times I had a black screen. Had to search YouTube for a fix on the black screen. Google customer service number was non-working and call couldn't be completed. Google's text assistant needed my credit card info and $1 to help me. Returning to Samsung as soon as possible!

Hi there,
My watch has had the following screen for approximately an hour. I didn't realise that it was updating until after I'd left my house, so don't have a charger with me or certainty that it'll connect to my phone's hotspot to continue. The watch won't turn off. Is there an approximate timeline for how long the update will take? And is there a way to schedule future updates rather than them be automatic?

I'm having the same issue and I held it down long enough. It's just frozen...even after all the "fixes" people suggest online. Nothing has worked. Touch screen is unresponsive.  It's been stuck for 4 hours.

My watch is frozen on a screen that reads 
"Wear OS system update
Preparing to update" since yesterday. 
I can't do anything. Help?

To force a reboot, hold the crown and the button right next to the crown together until the watch reboots. Don't let go of either button until the watch reboots, no matter what comes up on the screen. After the reboot, disconnect from BT and connect to wifi, that will download the update quicker.

EXTREMELY disappointed Google customer here. The support around this watch is absolute garbage. I've been trying to address my hardware case for nearly a week. Senior Support refuses to call me back. 

What kind of company releases a product that they're incapable of supporting? I have so many google products and its absolutely disheartening to be treated this way as a consumer. I am now considering changing internet providers, phone, etc to move away from Google. I really used to love their products but this experience has been absolutely awful. Zero accountability from google has absolutely demolished my trust in the brand.

My watch has stopped charging after the last update. Has happened previously then worked after a day or two but it's been 4 days now. I've tried different sockets but no luck. I don't know if it's the charger or the watch. Has anyone else experienced this issue.

Sorry I wrote phone in my post but meant watch, I've now corrected. Yes I have tried a different wall adaptor, a usb-c wall plug and my computer. None work. I don't have another puck and would prefer not to buy one in case it's not the charger that's at fault.

Fall detection is separate from the February update. I got the February update nearly a month ago but am still waiting for Fall Detection. Google only announced availability of fall detection six days ago so you and I have at least another week to wait if we happen to be near the back of the queue.

Update: Received fall detection March 9.

I wouldn't mind the fact that the watch factory resets itself every couple of weeks except that when it does I have to go through the process of disabling the notifications I don't want going to my watch.  Thanks Google, thanks for deciding to enable notifications from every app on my phone.  Every single app.  SO DUMB! F.U.G.
