Your Pixel Tablet comes with Google TV, Google Play, and Chromecast built-in. You can watch your favorite movies and TV on the tablet's screen, cast videos to and from the tablet, and attach your tablet to the Charging Speaker Dock for expansive, room-filling sound.
You can also control media directly in your favorite streaming app, with Google Assistant, or in the Google TV app .

How to watch TV, movies, and videos on your Pixel Tablet
Your Pixel Tablet comes with various services to help you watch your favorite content. Tap into your favorite streaming services on Google TV, purchase and rent movies from Google Play, or watch TV and movies available on YouTube, YouTube TV, and other streaming services.
Google TV
Your Pixel Tablet comes with Google TV built-in. Google TV brings together everything you stream in one place, so you can find entertainment from different services on one screen, without the need to jump from app to app. To use Google TV on your Pixel Tablet:
- Open the Google TV app .
- Select your streaming services tap Done.
- When you tap a movie or TV show, you might be prompted to sign into the streaming service. If this happens, follow the on-screen instructions.

Use Google Assistant to watch TV, movies, and videos
Some streaming apps and services are compatible with Google Assistant, so you can use "Hey Google" to play media without downloading an app. Certain streaming apps and services can also play over the lock screen without unlocking your tablet.
To watch movies and TV shows with Google Assistant, you'll need to link your video streaming services to Assistant:
- Open your device's Settings app .
- Tap Hub Mode Assistant Video.
- Next to the service you want to add, tap Add .
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Important: In Hub Mode, you need to enable Assistant on the lock screen and allow Assistant to play music, movies, and more when your tablet is locked.
Use Assistant voice commands to control playback
Once you link your accounts, you can use voice commands to control media playback. If your tablet is locked, you might need to unlock it first.

Cast and receive music or videos
Your Pixel Tablet has Chromecast built-in, so you can cast movies, TV, and music from devices with Chromecast built-in to your tablet's screen when docked. You can also cast from your Pixel Tablet to another TV or device with Chromecast built-in.

Cast from your Pixel Tablet to a device with Chromecast built-in
- On your Pixel Tablet, open the app you want to cast from play the media you want to cast.
- Tap Cast tap the device you want to cast to.
- On the device you cast to, follow any on-screen instructions.
- To stop casting, tap Cast tap Disconnect.
Cast from a phone or tablet with Chromecast built-in to your Pixel Tablet
- Make sure your tablet is docked.
- On your device with Chromecast built-in, cast media to your Pixel Tablet. For example:
- Open the YouTube app tap a video tap Cast tap your Pixel Tablet.
- If you get a notification on your Pixel Tablet when it's unlocked, tap Yes, allow.
- To stop casting on your source device, tap Cast Disconnect.
