What do I get with Nest Aware?

Visit the Google Store to learn more about Nest Aware prices and to buy a subscription.
Aware is available in countries (except Japan) where Nest Cameras and Google Nest displays are sold.

What are the requirements for the Nest Aware?

  • You’ll need a Google Account to use Nest Aware. If you have a Nest Account, you’ll need to migrate to a Google Account.
  • Your home needs to be in a country that supports Nest Aware.
  • Nest Aware requires a working internet connection for your home, and access to the Nest app and the Home app.

Do I use the Google Home app or the Nest app for Nest Aware?

How do I switch from 1st gen Nest Aware to Nest Aware? 

If you have an existing 1st gen Nest Aware subscription, you can switch to Nest Aware. You can learn more about how to switch your plan in the Google Store help center.

Can I keep my current 1st gen Nest Aware subscription?

Yes. As long as you don't migrate to a Google Account, your 1st gen Nest Aware subscriptions will continue. You can also purchase 1st gen subscriptions for new cameras. After you migrate to a Google Account, you can't add or renew 1st gen subscriptions.

Can I buy a subscription for someone else?

Gift subscriptions are not available for Nest Aware.

Can I get a free trial for Nest Aware?

Starting in early 2020, you can get a free 30-day Nest Aware trial if you’re a new customer or if you switch from 1st gen Nest Aware. Learn about free trials in our help center.
Your Nest Aware subscription will end at the close of the trial period unless you subscribe to Nest Aware, which requires a valid payment method. If your subscription ends, your video history will be deleted and sound clips will be deleted over time. You can also delete your video and sound detection history at any time. You can turn specific features or all Nest Aware features off at any time by changing the settings in the Home app or the Nest app.
