Troubleshooting

Nest cameras

Important: Only the Nest Hub Max (Nest display with camera) has a privacy switch.

If you can't stream your camera, let's try these steps:

  • First, check if you received a notification that your camera is offline or unavailable. This could mean it's currently being used for a video call or message.
  • If your camera is offline, refer to Fix Nest camera or doorbell Wi-Fi connection issues.
  • If the device you want to use to stream the camera is in use by a home member, you'll need to wait until it's available.
  • If you have a Nest Hub Max, make sure your display is in privacy mode. If so, turn off the physical privacy switch from the back of the Nest display.

Third-party cameras

If you can't stream your camera and get a notification that the camera is offline or unavailable, contact your third-party camera supplier for support. Also, some Arlo camera models may have ended support and no longer stream on Nest displays.

Tip: Make sure the camera has power, but we don't recommend troubleshooting third-party products further.
