Why are certain keywords suddenly not triggering ANY ads for me or my competitors?

Hi David,
Getting something more done is not a task any of us can do. Google Ads sets their policies and timelines based on their criteria and then passing it down the chain. Until they decide to take action, no action will be done.
Posting here to us cannot bring your desired recommend answer and so the only possible recommended answer at this point in time is: "IT services cannot be promoted." There are lots of products and services that cannot be promoted via Google Ads... and when they cannot, a different advertising platform has to be used.
There is nothing more that can be constructively said about this unfortunate situation.
All the Best,
James

As mentioned by @Celebird, IT services cannot be promoted. Google reviews accounts by tiers. It could take months from the moment a Policy change is announced until an account is reviewed.

We have addressed this issue to the best of our expertise and knowledge.
Currently Google prohibits promotion of IT services.. This policy change goes back several months and gradually rolls out globally.
We have no control over Google's policy decisions.

"Updated restrictions to ads for third-party technical support providers (August 2018)
Due to a rise in misleading ad experiences stemming from third-party technical support providers, Google has begun restricting ads in this category globally.
In the coming months, we’ll develop a verification program to ensure that only legitimate providers of third-party technical support have access to our platform. Until such time, all advertisers who promote third-party technical support will be affected by this change; no third-party technical support ads will be allowed."

"data recovery" is an extremely popular keyword that triggers my ads and my competitions ads for the last 20 years! It is the #1 keyword for our industry.
SO why suddenly does it no longer trigger anyone's ads? If I type "data retrieval" or "data recovering" I see ads, but enter "data recovery" and NO ads appear.
SOMETHING is wrong with Googles keyword triggering .. Google is loosing a lot of money due to this! We are losing money because folks can't find us by the most natural keyword used to find a data recovery company!
PLEASE someone address this issue or report it to someone at Google that can fix it!

@Michael, first mentioned by Moshe and further clarified by James. Accounts are reviewed in stages, not all at ones. There are a huge amount of accounts that need to be reviewed, hence it will take time for all accounts that violate policies to be flagged. These are done by Google review specialists.
If you find advertisers that violate Google's Policies then you can report them here: https://support.google.com/google-ads/contact/vio_other_aw_policy
This is a public community for members to help or guide other members, ie: we are not Google employees. Venting your frustrations here will go unanswered, unfortunately. It would be great if we had influence over Google's day to day actions, however, we community members do not.
So the best way for you to move forward is 1) report any violating advertisers and 2) find an alternative way to gain your traffic. The sooner you work on finding new methods of opportunities, the sooner you will recover. If you try to rely on Google changing there policies because you are unhappy, will either take a long time or never happen. So you are better of moving on. Try other advertising platforms, work on SEO, Social, Media, etc...
Please note this reply is intended to take the situation and your business in mind to grow again, not to show you the door.
And I fully understand your unhappy, I would be too. Legit businesses get punished for the few illegitimate businesses. We live in a hard world.
I wish you all the best of luck. The key to success is moving forward.
Hope this helps.
