We Meet The Requirements to Get Our Google Partner Badge, How Long Does it Take Google To Grant it?

Hey All!

We've had our MCC open for 13 months now, have nearly $100k in managed ad spend over the past 90 days and have a handful of certified individuals within our agency.

We are still missing our "performance" portion for getting our Google Partners Badge. I am guessing because Google needs at least 12 months of data. Based on reading the vague description of how Google rates performance, I feel we've certainly achieved all of them. We have grown in client volume and client spend, consistently quarter over quarter. We follow Google best practices and frequently meet with our account reps, have solid retention and have continued to add more certified users to the account.

Is there some sort of additional waiting beyond the 12 month period for Google to check our stats? Has anyone else recently been badged that can explain the process / how long it took?

Thanks so much everyone!

Hi Jon,

I agree with Emmanuel. And I can add a bit more as a Google Partner expert.

It takes 12-15 months to evaluate performance... and that timeline can take longer if the individual accounts linked to the agency's Google Ads Manager Account (old name: My Client Center/MCC) are in flux or created by another account and/or where your agency has not maintained them for 12-15 months.

Please know that we appreciate your desire to join Google Partners. The program was purposely overhauled and it's a good thing someone cannot join in 3 months. Once your Google Ads Manager Account has the required performance charted, I am sure your agency will be awarded the elevated status of being a badged Google Partner.

Kind Regards,

James

Meeting the requirements and being granted are two different things. When you meet the requirements it does not mean you are able to get the badge. And is considered on a case by case basis.
I recommend you double check the requirements here: https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/9028815?hl=en

Thanks for your reply, but I guess your answer is "You just have to wait"...

To be honest with you, I've read that requirements support page from Google 100 times now. I know the requirements like they are written on the back of my hand, and obviously as I stated above, I have a strong understanding of the min requirements as well. But I guess if what you say is true, then meeting the requirements doesn't matter? Google just magically picks you if your numbers are good enough? Because the "performance" base metric is so generic that it's impossible to know how you rank there. Unless they could actually show us reports on client retention / growth, which we have internally.

This is all so frustrating I suppose, because I was in PPC back in 2015 when getting a Google Partner Badge took like 3 months. Frustrating to crush the minimum requirements and be left with no answers, ya know?
