Store sales onboarding guide

About store sales conversion action

This article explains how to set up your Google Ads account conversion after it’s allowlisted for the feature. If your account isn’t allowlisted, review About store sales availability and eligibility to check whether your account is eligible for store sales.

After your account is allowlisted for store sales, a conversion action will automatically be created in your Google Ads account. The store sales conversion action will be called “Store sales” by default. You can change the conversion action name at any time by editing the conversion action.

After the “Store sales” conversion action is created, review the settings:

  1. In your Google Ads account, click the Goals icon Goals Icon.
  2. Click the Conversions dropdown in the section menu.
  3. Click Summary.
  4. Click New conversion action.
  5. Click Store sales.
  6. Select “Store sales”, and click Continue.
  7. Click the store sales conversion action that you want to edit.
  8. Click Edit settings. You can now make changes to the store sales conversion action.

Update your default conversion value

Update the default store sales value by clicking the “Value” section and updating the value in the field. Provide a value which reflects the average order value of your sales, as this will help provide better insights when evaluating store sales data.

Note: If you’re receiving automatic store sales values, the default value won’t be used. If you’re uploading in-store transaction data, the default value will only be used if you stop uploading eligible in-store transaction data after a period of time.

Update your attribution model

If you want to change the attribution model for the “Store sales” conversion action, click the “Attribution model” section, then choose “Last click” or “Data-driven”. The attribution model you choose determines how much credit each click gets for your conversions. Learn more About attribution models.

Verify your current store sales value model

Some advertisers may receive fully automatic and dynamic store sales value reporting, while others may receive dynamic value reporting based on uploaded in-store transactions. Advertisers who aren’t uploading consistent in-store transaction data can view value data based on the default conversion value settings.

Note: Learn more about Using the “Diagnostics” page for store sales to determine which model is being used

Upload in-store transaction data

If you want to upload in-store transaction data, you need to navigate to your Google Ads account to accept the store sales (uploads) customer data terms after your Google Ads account has been approved. Follow the steps below to read and accept the policy:

  1. In your Google Ads account, click the Goals icon Goals Icon.
  2. Click the Conversions dropdown in the section menu.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click to expand the Customer data terms section to view the policies. Confirm that you can comply with the policies.
  5. Click the “I have read and accept the terms on behalf of my company” checkbox.
  6. Click Save.

Learn more about the different upload methods available, how to prepare your data, and how to upload your store sales data.
