Update your payment methods

If credit card or bank account number has changed: You can edit all details for your payment method except for the credit card or bank account number. If your credit card or bank account number changes, we consider this a new credit card or bank account. You'll need to add it as a new payment method and then remove the former payment method.

If your expiration date only has changed: If your credit card expires and you receive a new credit card with an updated expiration date, but with the same account number, you'll need to just edit your card details, instead of adding it as a new credit card.

Note that in some cases, certain payment methods may be temporarily unavailable while Google Ads reviews your account’s eligibility to use them. Learn more about unavailable payment methods.

  1. Sign in to your Google Ads account.

  2. Click the tools icon , then click Billing & payments.

  3. Click Payment methods from the left menu.

  4. Find the payment method you want to update, and click Edit.

  5. Enter your updated information.

  6. Click Save when you're done.
