Change your campaign type
This article covers how to switch from one campaign type to another.
How it works
The new Google Ads experience is now the exclusive way for most users to manage their accounts. Note, automatic targeting is only available in the new Google Ads experience.
Changing campaign types can affect your campaign's performance and ad serving, or hide and deactivate certain features. In the new Google Ads experience, we've disabled the option to change between campaign types to help you avoid these issues.
If you want to adjust where your ads can appear, create a new campaign using a different campaign type, or for Search Network, Video, and Shopping campaigns, change your campaign’s "Networks" settings.
How to change your campaign's networks settings
- Sign in to your Google Ads account.
- Click Settings in the page menu.
- Click the name of the campaign you'd like to edit.
- Click to expand the Networks section.
- Choose your settings, then click Save.
Want to use a feature that isn't available with your campaign's current type? Consider creating a new campaign with the appropriate type and then importing your existing ad groups into that new campaign with Google Ads Editor. Learn more about using Google Ads Editor.
