Set up enhanced conversions leads for lead form ads

Enhanced conversions leads can be used in combination with lead form ads to track offline conversions so that you can upload deeper lead data back into Google to further drive reporting and optimization insights. If you have not activated enhanced conversions for leads but have activated lead form ads, you can easily set up enhanced conversions for leads using data collected in your lead form ads.

Instructions

1. Create your lead form ad

Note: A lead form conversion action will be automatically created in Google Ads when the form receives its first submission. It will show up as a “Lead form submission” goal with Conversion Source: Google hosted.

2. Enable enhanced conversions for leads for Account

Note: The instructions below are part of a new Google Ads user experience that will launch for all advertisers in 2024. If you’re still using the previous version of Google Ads, review the Quick reference map or use the Search bar in the top navigation panel of Google Ads to find the page you’re searching for.
  1. In your Google Ads account, click the Goals icon Goals Icon.
  2. Click the Conversions drop down in the section menu.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Expand the "Enhanced conversions for leads" section.
  5. Check "Turn on enhanced conversions for leads".
  6. Choose a method for setting up and managing user-provided data.
  7. Click Save.

3. Setup an offline conversion action for enhanced conversion for leads

  1. In your Google Ads account, open the Conversions Summary.
  2. Click New conversion action.
  3. Set the type of conversion to "Import". Select Other data resources or CRMs and then Track conversions from clicks.
  4. Click Continue.
    • Note: Import from Calls is currently unavailable.
  5. Enter the settings for this conversion action. Learn more about creating conversion actions.
  6. Click Create and Continue. The next page confirms your new conversion action.

4. Import your conversions into Google Ads

Next, you'll need to import conversions from ads clicks into Google Ads.
