Add additional asset groups (hotels) to your Performance Max for travel goals campaign

Performance Max for travel goals campaigns is the easiest way for hotel performance advertisers to serve across all Google properties. With Performance Max for travel goals campaigns, you can reach hotel guests and drive more direct bookings across Google’s full range of advertising channels and inventory with one simple set up. After creating a Performance Max for travel goals campaign, you can select from 3 options to add additional asset groups (hotels) to the campaign. Note, you can’t use the copy functionality to copy asset groups from one Performance Max for travel goals campaign to another.

Important
If you’ve already linked a Hotel Center account to your Google Ads account, review add asset groups through Hotel Center to finish adding any asset groups to your campaign.
Note: The instructions below are part of the new design for the Google Ads user experience. To use the previous design, click the "Appearance" icon, and select Use previous design. If you're using the previous version of Google Ads, review the Quick reference map or use the Search bar in the top navigation panel of Google Ads to find the page you’re searching for.

Add asset groups through Google Ads

  1. In to your Google Ads account, click the Tools icon Tools Icon, then click Business data.
  2. On the “Data feeds” page, select the hotel property feed that you would like to edit.
    • Note: “Hotel property feed” identifies the data feeds you’ve created for Performance Max for travel goals campaigns.
  3. Click the plus button Add, then choose one of the following 2 options to add properties to a feed:
  4. In the “Campaigns using this feed” section, select the campaign that needs to be updated. When you select a campaign, you'll be brought back to the “Asset groups” page for the selected campaign.
    • Important: To continue to add asset groups through Google Ads, ensure that you’ve completed this step. Your new asset groups (hotels) must be added to your campaigns.
  5. Click either Create All in the top notification panel or the plus button Add.
    • “Create All” will auto-populate the new asset groups all together so that you can edit them as needed.
    • The plus button Add will require you to create the new property asset groups one at a time through the “Link property” option. If there are multiple new asset groups, repeat this step until all the new asset groups have been created.
    • Note: Google AI will automatically select a travel-specific audience signal for each newly created asset group. These audiences are named after the hotel and will be visible once Asset groups are created.
  6. Click Save.

Add asset groups through Hotel Center

You can also use your linked Hotel Center accounts to add hotels through Hotel Center.

  1. In your Hotel Center account, click Account settings.
  2. In the “Google Ads Links” section, find the Google Ads account your data feed is linked to and click Manage Link.
  3. Select “Only some properties”, and download the existing property list.
  4. After downloading your property list, add new properties and upload the updated list.
  5. Click Submit once the new file is uploaded and click Update.
  6. After updating, return to Google Ads, select the Performance Max for travel goals campaign that’s using this feed, and follow steps 5 and 6 in add asset groups through Google Ads.
