About automatically created assets

Automatically created assets are an opt-in, campaign-level setting. Enabling the setting will help you generate additional assets (headlines and descriptions) to be used in combination with the assets you input for your responsive search ads. These new assets are generated based on your ad's unique context, which includes your landing page, existing ads, and keywords in your ad group.

Note: The automatically created assets setting is currently in open beta for English. We plan to roll out automatically created assets to additional languages later this year. Automatically created assets will appear in campaign level settings as accounts are added to the open beta. You must opt-in to use this feature. Asset generation techniques using domain are coming soon.

Ensure your website content is accurate, not misleading, and not in violation of Google Ads policies or applicable laws. After enabling automatically created assets, you can monitor your ad content for accuracy in the asset details report.

Benefits of automatically created assets

  • Performance
    • Increase Responsive search ads (RSA) performance by automatically creating more headlines and descriptions.
  • Relevance
    • Provide a consistent user experience across query, ad copy, and landing pages.
  • Productivity
    • Reduce the amount of manual work to create relevant ad copy.

How automatically created assets work

For responsive search ads within campaigns where you enable automatically created assets, you instruct Google to help you generate assets from eligible sources based on relevance and predicted performance. When your ad is eligible to serve for a query, responsive search ads will use the pool of eligible advertiser-created assets and automatically created assets and serve the combination predicted to perform best.

FAQs

How can I view the automatically created assets that are used in my ads?
You can view the automatically created assets used in your ads in the asset report to view which assets are being used in the RSA. To review the actual combinations and ads that served for transparency purpose, you can view the combination report.
Are all automatically created assets expected to serve?
Automatically created assets are eligible to serve when generated. Assets may be generated and then determined as poor performers because the context can change from generation to serving, such as editing the ad, keywords, or landing page. The system will automatically remove the asset when it determines it won’t perform after some time, if an asset is assigned a Low performance label, or if the source of the asset changes.
