Upgrade to Gemini Advanced

You can upgrade to Gemini Advanced, which is part of the Google One AI Premium paid plan for personal Google Accounts, qualifying edition of Google Workspace for work Google Accounts, or qualifying edition of Google Workspace for Education for school Google Accounts.

Gemini Advanced is far more capable at highly complex tasks like coding, logical reasoning, following nuanced instructions, and creative collaboration.

With Gemini Advanced you can experience our most capable AI models, including Gemini 2.0 Flash with a 1 million token context window. This means you can analyze, explore, and understand documents of up to around 1,500 pages. You also get priority access to Gemini´s newest features and experimental models as they become available. What you need

• Gemini Advanced is currently available in over 150 countries and territories and more than 45 languages.
  • Gemini Advanced on the Gemini web app: You can use Gemini Advanced on gemini.google.com in the languages supported by the web app.
  • Gemini Advanced on the Gemini mobile app: You can only use Gemini Advanced on the Gemini mobile app in the languages supported by the mobile app.

• Gemini Advanced isn’t available to users under 18.
• To access Gemini Advanced features with a work account, you must have a qualifying edition of Google Workspace.
• To access Gemini Advanced features with a school account, you must have a qualifying edition of Google Workspace for Education.

Upgrade to Gemini Advanced

In the Gemini web app

To upgrade to Gemini Advanced, subscribe to the plan in Google One.

1. Go to gemini.google.com.
2. At the top, tap Menu .
3. At the bottom, tap Upgrade to Gemini Advanced.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Tip: When you subscribe to the plan, you’ll need to select or provide a form of payment. Learn how to manage your Google payment info.

In the Gemini mobile app

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gemini app .
2. At the top, tap your Profile picture or Initial  Try Gemini Advanced Start trial.
   • If you already have a Google One subscription, tap Upgrade. This opens the app you originally subscribed to Google One from to complete the upgrade. On the payment screen, the other app will be listed.
3. To confirm your purchase, follow the instructions on screen.
4. Tap Go to Gemini Advanced.

Troubleshoot issues upgrading on the mobile app

If you’re brought to Apple settings

If you no longer have the app you subscribed to Google One through, you’ll be brought to your subscriptions in Apple settings. To upgrade in Apple settings:

1. Select the app you used to subscribe to Google One.
2. Tap See All Plans.
3. Select the Google One AI Premium (2 TB) plan.

If you’re brought to instructions to upgrade through Google One

If you subscribed to Google One through the web or on an Android device, you may not be able to upgrade to Gemini Advanced on your iPhone or iPad. Follow the instructions to upgrade on the Gemini web app.

 

I upgraded to Gemini Advanced, but it doesn’t show in the Gemini mobile apps

If Gemini Advanced doesn’t show in your Gemini mobile app:

• First, try to switch to Gemini Advanced in settings.
• If that doesn’t work, restart the app.

Choose the model you want to use

You can choose the model that you want to use for a chat.

Important: To switch between models in Gemini Apps, you must be signed in. Learn how to sign in to Gemini Apps.

How to switch between Gemini models

Important: A chat can only use one model. If you switch between models in an existing chat, it automatically starts a new chat

To switch between models:

1. Go to gemini.google.com or the Gemini mobile app
2. At the top, tap Gemini or Gemini Advanced.
3. Select what model you want to use for the chat.

Tip: You can check what model a chat uses at the top.

Available Gemini models

There are several Gemini models and tools available in the Gemini Apps drop down.

• 2.0 Flash: Get everyday help.
• 2.5 Flash (experimental): Uses advanced reasoning.
• This is an experimental model. Share feedback to help us improve models over time.
• 2.5 Pro (experimental): Best for complex tasks.
  • This is an experimental model. Share feedback to help us improve models over time.
• Deep Research: Get in-depth answers. Learn how to use deep research.
• Personalization (experimental). Help based on your Search history.
  • This experimental capability is not available to users with a work or school Google Account or to users in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom. Learn more about who can access this feature.

In the Gemini mobile app

1. On your iPhone, open the Gemini app .
2. At the top, tap your Profile picture or Initial Settings.
3. Turn Advanced responses on or off.
   • To use Gemini Advanced, turn it on .
   • To use Gemini, turn it off .

Tip: A chat that’s using Gemini Advanced shows “Gemini Advanced” at the top.

 

 

Change your plan

In the Gemini web app

You can change your Google One plan if you don’t want the AI Premium subscription.

1. Go to gemini.google.com.
2. At the bottom, tap Settings Manage subscription. 
   • This opens Google One settings where you can select a different plan.
3. Tap Change membership plan.
4. Under "Downgrade options," select a plan.
   • Confirm the new plan price and details. 
5. Tap Next.
6. Select your payment method.
7. Tap Subscribe.

In the Gemini mobile app

1. On your iPhone, open the Gemini mobile app .
2. At the top, tap your Profile picture or Initial Settings Manage subscription  Manage subscription.
   • If you subscribed to Google One from a different app, this opens your subscriptions in Apple settings. Select the app you used to subscribe to Google One.
3. Tap See All Plans.
4. Select the plan you want.

Cancel your plan

You can cancel your plan in Google One settings.

In the Gemini web app

1. Go to gemini.google.com.
2. At the top, tap Menu Settings Manage subscription. This opens Google One settings, where you can cancel your plan.
3. Tap Cancel membership Cancel.

What happens when you cancel your plan

When your plan ends, you’ll no longer have access to:

• Gemini Advanced. You won’t be able to:
  • Start new chats with Gemini Advanced
  • Continue chats created with Gemini Advanced
  • Use features that are only available on Gemini Advanced
• These benefits from Google One:
  • Expanded storage across Drive, Gmail, and Photos
  • Direct support from Google experts
  • Exclusive member benefits
• Gemini in Gmail, Docs, and more
