How do I manage my Fitbit profile?

Who can see my personal information on Fitbit?

When you first created your Fitbit account, your personal information is set to private by default:

• Birthday (if you sign in with your Fitbit login)
• Sex, height, and weight
• Location
• Friends
• Badges
• Lifetime steps, distance, and floors

When you add a friend or join a group on Fitbit, your average daily step count, display name, and profile photo are visible to your friend and other group members. Your About Me information and the date you joined Fitbit is visible to your friends.

Control who sees your personal information in your privacy settings.

How do I manage my privacy settings on Fitbit?

If you sign in with your Google Account

1. From the Today tab , tap your profile picture.
2. Tap Fitbit settings  Social & Sharing  Privacy.
3. Tap each item to review and adjust your privacy settings.
4. Tap Save.

If you sign in with your Fitbit login

2. Tap Social & Sharing  Privacy.
3. Tap each item to review and adjust your privacy settings.

What's my Fitbit display name?

Your display name is the name your friends see when they look at your Fitbit profile, when you send them a message, or in other interactions in the Community tab of the Fitbit app.

You can also choose a user name that your friends will see instead of your real name.

How do I change my name or user name?

Fitbit app

1. From the You tab , tap the tile with your name.
2. Tap Display Name.
3. Under Edit Names, tap the name or user name you want to change and enter your changes.
4. Tap Save.

Note that you can only change your name or user name once every 60 days, and you can only set your user name with the Fitbit app. Contact customer support to change your name if there's a typo or you didn't authorize a name change.

How do I change my birthdate, sex, height, or weight?

2. Tap the information you want to change and make your changes.
3. Tap Save.

How do I update the email address associated with my Fitbit account?

1. From the Today tab , tap the settings icon in the top left.
2. Tap Account Settings  Change Email.
3. In the New Email and Confirm New Email boxes, enter your preferred email address.
4. In the Confirm Password box, type your Fitbit account password.
5. Tap Change and follow the on-screen instructions.
6. In the email you receive, click Verify your Email to complete the update.

Note: If you moved Fitbit to your Google Account, you must update your email address in your account profile. For more information, see the Google help article.

If you don't remember your password, see How do I change or reset my Fitbit password? If you no longer have access to the email account currently associated with your Fitbit account and can't remember your password, you'll need to create a new account.

How do I see the date that I joined Fitbit?

2. Swipe up to see your joined date.

On the Fitbit settings page, click View Profile next to your profile image. Your join date is shown under Personal Info.

How do I add or change my Fitbit profile photo?

1.  From the  You tab , under Community, tap Friends  You.
2. Tap the camera icon next to your current profile picture.
3. Take a new photo or choose an existing photo. In Fitbit child accounts, choose an avatar.
4. Save your photo.

How do I add or change my cover photo in the Fitbit app?

Who can see my average daily step count?

Your friends and other members of groups you joined can see your average daily step count by default. Manage who can see your step count in your privacy settings.

Can I share my location?

Share where you live with your Fitbit friends or all Fitbit users.

Note that setting your location in your profile does not change the language setting for your Fitbit account or the time on your Fitbit device. 3. Choose your country, and tap Save.

How do I remove or block friends?

1.  From the  You tab , under Community, tap Friends.
2. Tap the friend you want to delete or block to view their profile.
3. On their profile, tap the three dots.
   • To remove the friend, tap Remove Friend.
   • To block a friend, tap Block User.

If you want to unblock a user, go to Fitbit settings  Social & Sharing  Blocked Users and select the user you want to unblock
