Transfer Fiber service to another account

You can transfer your Fiber service from one email address to another. Examples of why you'd transfer Fiber to another address include:

  • You have two email addresses and want to transfer Fiber service from one to the other.
  • You're moving and you want to transfer Fiber service at your current address to the new occupant.
  • You're moving to an address that has Fiber service and you want it transferred to your Google Account.
When you transfer Fiber service from one email address to another, only your Fiber service is transferred. Your Google Account remains unchanged.
Transfer Fiber service to another email address

To transfer Fiber service to another email address, the address must be associated with a Google Account.

  • If the email address you're transferring to is a Gmail address, a Google Account was created when you created the Gmail address, so you're all set. Simply contact Google Fiber customer support to complete the transfer.
  • If the email address is from another provider, for example, name@provider.com, you can still use it - you just have to associate it with a Google Account.

To transfer to a non-Gmail address:

  1. Go to the Google Account page.
  2. In the Choose your user name field, click I prefer to use my current email address.

  3. Enter the email address you want to associate with this Google Account; then complete the remaining steps to complete the process.
  4. Please contact Google Fiber customer support to complete the transfer of your Fiber service to your email address.
Transfer Fiber service when moving

If you have Google Fiber service at your current location and you're moving, the following options are available:

  • Transfer Fiber service at your current address to the new occupant. Before you contact Google Fiber customer support to transfer your service to a new occupant, you must have the following information available:
    • The email and password associated with your Fiber account.
    • Your Fiber account customer support PIN.
    • The new occupant's email address. They'll receive an email from Fiber customer support to get them started.
  • If you're moving to a new address that previously had Google Fiber service, you can sign up for service. The process is easiest if you're in touch with the previous occupant; if this is the case, have them contact Google Fiber customer support to transfer service to you.

If you're not in touch with the previous occupant, contact Google Fiber customer support to find out how to cancel the previous occupant's account and sign up for your own service.

Transfer Fiber Phone service

Transfer Fiber Phone service to another person

If you're transferring your Fiber Phone service to another person's account (email), phone service might be interrupted or unavailable under the following conditions:

  • If the telephone number is changing, phone service might be temporarily interrupted.
  • If the person you're transferring phone service to has not set up Fiber Phone, or does not already have a Google Voice number established on their Google account, phone service will not be available. The recipient of your phone service must set up Fiber Phone on their own Google Account.

Transfer your Fiber Phone number to another account

If you transferred your Fiber service (including Fiber Phone) to another account and want your Fiber Phone number associated with that account, please initiate the transfer in Google Voice. All Fiber Phone numbers are Google Voice numbers, so initiating the transfer from Google Voice ensures your privacy and security.

You cannot transfer your Fiber Phone number to another account that already has a Google Voice number associated with it.
