Remove disconnected devices

You can manage and monitor your Wi-Fi network and devices through the GFiber App or the Google Home app (for Google Wifi and Nest Wifi Pro users). You’ll find the answers to your technical questions there — from running a speed test, to restarting your router, to connecting devices to your network — and so much more.

Most Network Box customers are eligible to upgrade to a Nest Wifi Pro Router. To learn more, please visit the Router upgrade for Network Box customers article.

The Network tab displays and retains the name of each non-Fiber device, such as a computer, tablet, phone, or game console, that has connected to your network (even if it is not currently connected). To remove a device from the Network list, you must first disconnect it.

When you remove one or more disconnect devices, the Fiber network:

  • Removes all names and records of the disconnected devices from the Fiber network and your Fiber account. (If you connect a device after removing it, it will be treated as a first-time connection and you'll need to rename it if desired.)

  • Removes all affected devices from the navigation pane.

  • Makes all dynamic IP addresses, previously assigned to removed devices, available for reassignment.

  • Makes any reserved IP addresses, previously assigned to removed devices, available for reassignment.

  • Removes all port forwarding rules for removed devices, if any.

  • Removes any disconnected devices that were placed under your network's DMZ, causing the Network Box to ignore all subsequent inbound requests that would have previously been sent to the DMZ.

To remove a disconnected non-Fiber device:

  1. Sign in to Fiber using the email and password you use for your Fiber account.

  2. Select Network at the top-left corner. (If you don’t see it, click the navigation menu to display the selection.)

  3. Select the disconnected non-Fiber device you want to remove from the list; then click Remove device.

Remove disconnected devices from your Google Fiber network.
