Check your current data usage

You can keep track of your current data usage and how many days are left in your billing cycle so there are no surprises on your next billing statement.

If you use an Android device, you can add the Google Fi widget to your home screen to have your data usage on hand at all times.

Here's how to see your estimated data usage in Google Fi:

  1. Open the Google Fi website or app Project Fi.
  2. Go to the Account tab.
  3. At the top of the screen, you'll see your current data usage.
    • Android: To see your daily breakdown select View overall or Daily data usage.
    • iOS: To see your daily breakdown select See activity.

The information on the widget and the Google Fi app is updated in close to real-time. Real-time data is only available for your own talk & text device with Android 7.0 (Nougat) and the most recent version of the Google Fi app. It takes about a day for your data usage to show up in the Google Fi website. International data charges may be further delayed.

Important: Your current data usage is a live estimate, and might be adjusted throughout your billing cycle. Your bill reflects the total amount of data you used each month.

Turn off data automatically when you hit a limit
You can use your phone's settings to set a data limit. When your data reaches that limit, mobile data on your phone will turn off automatically and you'll get a notification.
Turn off data use on individual apps for iOS
To set which apps are allowed to use data on your iPhone:
  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go to "Cellular."
  3. Scroll and turn off any app you don't want to use your data on.
How you're charged for data

With the Flexible plan, you’re charged a rate of $10 per GB for data until you reach your Bill Protection data limit. With Unlimited Plus or Simply Unlimited plans, data is included. Learn more about Data Speeds

Monitor & budget data usage

You can get an alert when you use a specific amount of data. If you're a group plan owner, you can also get alerts for each member in your group.

You can also decide how much data can be used before data is slowed down. When you reach a slow data limit, data speeds reduce to 256 kbps.
